@binhthuy71 Indeed. We will soon find out whether it's the answer or not. :D Nevertheless, its one way to play the game and that's cool on its own.

Put some paint on your 'Space Ferry' and there's nothing wrong with it. Refreshing to see the round blocks used, they usually get very little attention.

haha ;-) oh yes... this is so well known for me... haha ;-)
yeah, I'm really need to go more beautiful next ones ;-)

    Another Problem I normally have:
Either I'm going at Micro bases style or I'm such big that it's not survival stuff anymore...
My actual test drive for that CV-Base is 15 x 15, asymmetric, 2 story, cockpit not yet included (that means even longer/bigger...)
    that's TOO BIG.
    :-(

What would you all desire to be a good size?

... too big? Whats that? :D There's no such thing as 'too big' in survival: there's just people who have mined enough - and those who haven't.

Well, I might need to revise that with this playthrough but I'm not aiming to a small CV - just a small footprint that I can easily land. It can be massive otherwise :D And its probably more like so that I land to a planet, stay there and explore for good amount of time - so it will be good while before I move to a new planet. So I will have plenty of time gather resources and fuel consumption shouldn't be an issue if I don't plan to planet-hop constantly.

Well, that's what I plan to do atleast.

I do play the same way, usually. i build just some ugly bunker on the starter planet, to get things going; then i advance to some crude HV and SV to conquer that planet and finally end up with a gross CV to fly away to new planets and never come back. The more i try to build shapely and pleasant, the worse it gets. And thats the outside; the interior is, ehem, well... functional. For the size: My CV are usual around (60x30x100)m (WxHxL) with a footprint of about (20x40)m. Fairly small, i think, but equipped with anything a sigle player can wish and heavily armed.

There is another category: People who need a sv to travel their ship and those who dont :D

    fixed it for you.
    haha ;-)

    okay I see... ;-)

(Now I'm already at over 2000 Iron, but only Steel is used and only 25% (if that is) finished...
on the other hand I have a full combat fitted small CV (modified Neutronium class) for more or less 9000 iron...)

Well SV's ARE meant for short trips around the planets, right? :D

@rucky Haha, something like that :) Sweet looking ship BTW! And cheap!

What a block size? 3m each side? then your CV would be 20x10x33... okay... trying to get that too...

block size is 2m, so the CVs are 30x15x50 (roudabout). Could be much smaller, but i dont want to leave all my small ships behind, so i need lots of hangar space. Thats alone more than the half ship. The other half is the gardening section, the rest is storage and constructors.

This is the last CV i (half) finished (The interior needs polishing even on my low standards. But this comes with using):

No bells and whistles, no paint, no eye candy. Thats work i do not really like, as i want to go back to playing as soon as possible.

I logged in to discover drones right above my base. My cannon turret started firing as I was rushing outside to shoot the drones. Then I saw the drones had been able to chew up my brand new SV while this unfortunate turret malfunction occurred :( Now I have to make a hangar sooner rather than later.

I had laid down a bunch of corridors and stuff for the main sub floor of my station but I wasn't entirely happy with it. Originally it was a very conventional layout with a main corridor running in a box shaped pattern around the edges. Inside that box was divided up into four sections by connecting corridors running to the center with four side corridors connecting to rooms where shutter doors connect to the landing pads above(for luggage handling). It basically left a big u-shaped space in each of the four sections that was further broken up by where the elevators were located. These u-shaped areas are where the guest quarters/services are going to be located for the most part.

Initially I was thinking of running a bunch of corridors and rooms in those areas kind of like a hotel but quite frankly that's claustrophobic and boring. I spent most of yesterday researching instead of building but I finally hit on an idea.

So....the outer corridor box is still there. Two of the connecting corridors running to the center are still there. The luggage rooms connect up to those so now luggage can be moved from the landing pads to the baggage area. I added another bank of elevators that guests can take to the lower levels(where the casino will be). That largely separates the employee elevator in the center from the guest elevators so there's less cross traffic.

The other two connecting corridors will be removed. That leaves two large sections instead of four smaller ones. Large enough for a small underground city perhaps. :p

I think you guys are gonna like this.

Edit: I'm looking at those cargo pods and thinking they could easily be turned into more guest quarters. Hrm. Hrmmmmmmmm. Going to have to mull that one over. Could turn them into luxury suites with observation areas and glass tunnels running to the casino.

Sounds like it's going to be interesting. We're working on our own top-end station as well, to be the Space Moles HQ, it's going to be......expansive* :D

    *and probably expensive too :D:D

When I was building out the subfloor initially I thought I was being a little generous going down six layers. I thought that would give me enough wiggle room but then I didn't plan on building city blocks inside the station. It works really frigging well but it's going to be tight. I'll have to get a little bit creative about where I place ventilators in some areas.

Can't wait to see what you guys come up with!

Got attacked by a patrol vessel on Omicron on Day 2 after touching down. Fortunately I had a cannon turret on the prefab base, so I manned the gun myself--singing "Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!"--and fought it off! I caught it on video:

I'm now a big fan of the patrol vessel setup. Used to be I'd plop a cannon turret on my base, feed it a couple hundred rounds every few days, and let it automatically gun down approaching guns. But the auto-target feature doesn't do it for the patrol vessels anymore, so I'm going to have to stick more cannon turrets on or explore some heavier ordnance.

My CV is my base as well. I build bases but I spend 90% of my time on my CV.

I don't think I ever built a small CV , if I need a small ship I usually have a SV . When it comes to SCI FI fans like me, I'm building the biggest CV i can build and do some role playing. lol That is why I usually look for MP servers that have really cool Admins that allow you to build pretty big ships whenever I do play MP.

Great Video!!! And YES YOU STAY AND FIGHT MR!!!! . lol I would like to see PV vessels be more aggressive and use the mounted guns because those mounted guns would have made it more of a challenge .

I use my CV as a base 95% of the time. Since the day back when CVs where allowed to land I tend to use Bases less and less. If I have one I use a type with a landing platform in order to auto-repair any damages, because everybody knows that CVs are hard to repair if you can't find exactly where the damage is. Plus auto-repair is free.

Ha, yeah, I saw @LiftPizzas get messed up by a PV in a video so I wanted to make sure I had the option to bug out if needed. You're right, it would be nice to see them use the mounted weapons/heavier turrets, but maybe not until a little later in the game...? Like, I would have had no chance against a PV with real turrets--they would have shredded me instantly, and I don't have the levels or resources for the base defenses that would take them down. But yes, ultimately I'd like to see my double-layer-concrete-bunker with hella turrets on it go up against the full might of a PV.
