I only ask because we dont have problems like that very often if at all. People report it and we have rules about "Abusive Behavior" on our server. Also because once in a while we take groups to other servers for team play events :) and we would rather avoid dealing with juvenile behavior if we can (Though I do realize that it does happen lol).

I don't really give a damn what people say or do in PvP, but I will say that the Official servers should at least hire* some mods to help keep things relatively civil. I'm no fan of "censorship" either, but when it comes to player interaction I don't see any good reason to allow foul language directed at someone else. If you accidentally trash an epic weapon or have your SV blasted out from under you by an unexpected POI, sure a bit of cussing is expected.
As a fellow American, I feel obligated to point out that our beloved First Amendment applies only and exclusively to the Government's ability to tell you what you can/can't say. Private entities (especially ones not based in our country) can tell you to STFU all day long and there's nothing in the Constitution to say otherwise. It's important to know what your civil rights are, but it's equally important to know where and how they apply. "Freedom of speech" is not a catch-all that lets you say anything you like, anytime, anywhere.

The papers aren't censoring hate, their censoring the truth.

It happened on the official public server.
There are no mods there contrary to the official US or EU servers. So anything goes.
But despite a small handful of players that are very rude, it's a very friendly server. I wouldn't play there otherwise.

Ouch. Thats a shame. Then again its hard to get "moderators" to watch that stuff.

Well... hell. I play on public servers because no one has ever invited me to a private one (*sniff* Nobody loves me). I find decent players on public servers all the time. On my current server admins have recently kicked a player for being an asshole. It really is up to the server admins to police any MP server.

One great reason the game has a poor MP implimentation and why I don't play it. The chat window should be user editable so the silly kids comments get removed or the chat box can be removed entirely.

Responsible adults who are civil to one another are fine, it's the children without a proper upbringing that are the problem.

Cursing shows a definite lack of imagination and wit. If you have to resort to the same word dozens of times in a few hours, it's time to increase your vocabulary and your intellect.
All we need is a way to turn off those that chose not to better themselves and improve their linguistic abilities.

    MUTE BUTTON.

Adult language might be acceptable if there was an adult server designation and a way to verify before being allowed to enter one, but in a game being sold to minors, it's up to everyone to reign in their selection of words to a level that is proper for the time and place. Swearing is acceptable in a bar, not in a church. There is a time and place to vent and a game with kids playing is not that time for bad manners and anti-social behaviors.

I don't really agree with you at all. For instance the government is the only power on earth that is allowed to compel my obedience with force. And without force no one else is going to be ABLE to compel my obedience. Thus I can do and do have freedom of speech everywhere I can. People can react how they like and how they need to. But I'm a free man and I speak with the voice of a living free man.

I respect your position, but this is not a subject you can simply "disagree" with.
-Keyword: "CONGRESS." That first and most important of your Rights is exclusively a protection from government oppression. Full stop. It does not apply in any legal, binding sense to private entities - in or outside the USA.
-Corollary: The vast and overwhelming majority of the content and social space of the internet, where you would exercise this 'right' to free speech, is privately owned by one or more companies. While it is in their best interest to allow you to speak your mind freely, they are under no legal or constitutional obligation to do so. This is why, for example, moderators are perfectly with in their 'right' to mute, kick, ban, or otherwise punish people for the things they say.
-To address your statement directly, said private entities (moderators/admins) are fully entitled to "use force" (those kicks and bans) to "compel your obedience." However, as a living free man, the Federal Government does not - it is, as specified by the Constitution, the only power on Earth that is not allowed to compel your obedience with force. (At least in this matter. If the police tell you to get on the ground and put your hands behind your head, you damn well better listen to 'em!)

Your understanding of the right to free speech appears to be completely backwards. Please, again as a fellow American and free man myself, I urge you to educate yourself on what "rights" you actually have and what they actually mean.

It doesn't, nor has it ever. It just means that the government cannot legally stop you from saying whatever it is you have to say - it does not protect you from the consequences of your words, however.
