    Hi Galactic Survivalists,

    We just released a small update that implements a highly requested feature: we adapted the turret targeting such that turrets do not shoot anymore at a structure's middle position if no target option is selected (or all of the selected target options are destroyed). In this case, the turrets will not shoot at the structure anymore. As an example, you can now use your HV to take out the turrets of a POI and then use the HV to defend its position while you conquer the POI (as shown in the above screenshot).

    This is a server and client update.

    Changes:
    - Turrets do not shoot at a structure's middle position any more if no target option is selected
    - Replaced old turrets on several BA stock prefabs

    Bug Fixes:
    - Fixed: Disassembling Fiber Plant gives Akua Berry Sprout
    - Fixed: FP gets stuck when creating Emergency Ratios with Corn instead of Plastic Raw Material
    - Fixed internal error linked to Constructor

    why still the core?? the core is crucial and should be a mission to find, not simply for a turret to locate.

    also is this server and client side update?

    I hoped it was adding manual aiming for turrets. Well maybe next time.

    PS: I said adding manual, not remove auto aiming PVP haters :p

    I know...the core should be removed from the targeting options

    I agree.

    The idea that your ship knows where the core is located, but you do not strikes me as being a bit strange. I think removing the ability to target the core makes sense.

    Yes this(core targeting) should certainly be removed. Can't find the core on something?-turn on a turret so it shows you where to look.
    Now that being said, ever since the new block types were added I can STILL see through walls just by standing next to them and looking at an angle. -making every block inside invisible and only devices visible.. so it's not like anyone can hide a core these days anyway.

    Uhmm... open control panel, select turret and press 'access'... then VIOLA! Manual Aiming for turrets.

    This is really great news!

    I started a new game on Ningeus, it's the first time I started on this planet, so I wonder if it's the same on this planet:

    - There are no fibers?

    - I also do not think seaweed (even think it makes sense, since the planet has no sea, only lakes)

    - I've captured a POI and made it base, I can not mark it as a waypoint, and it is never attacked by Drones. (Actually the first time I based on a POI)

    - I set up so the amount of deposits to few, but has found many.

    - Already the amount of ore per deposits set to high, but are very low.

    - There is not fiber on Ningues.
    - I am unsure of the Seaweed, but you need deep water, if there is.
    - Captured POIs do not get attacked. It is a known issue.
    - Ningues is a "low ore" planet. It is part of it's challenge.

    Awesome job Eleon! Last I heard, this was a thing that was "being looked into, but would require a rework of the code" or something. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit shocked to see this issue resolved so quickly. You managed to answer the hopes and dreams of a vast majority of posters on this forum, as that was one of the biggest complaints with this new system.

    Hate to play devil's advocate here, but I think he was talking about an option where you can manually aim all of the turrets at once, like some other sci-fi starship games do.

    If I recall correctly, this is a known but/issue/exploit. It's also one of the reasons I almost never take over another POI for my first base...no fun that way. :p

    As for the seaweed, you've got to remember that Ningues is a harder start planet. As such, you'll have to raid bases to find biofuel... which seems to be adequately supplied. Can't remember if goloms supply biofuel, but they're a good source of stuff too.

    As for the base not being attacked, I think that only happens when you power up your own base from scratch.

    I want to say: Thank you so much for this huge update to the turret targeting.

    Hummel said yesterday that it was in the works but it would take time because it wasn't just a line of code to rewrite. So I know you guys worked really hard on this one. Thanks so much for these awesome updates lately. I'm so glad I found this game. I'm so glad I found this dev team.

    I mean all turrets at once / or a type of turrets. Not 1 specific turret.

    Hey I updated Server and Client.
    Runned to my CV. Sit in Turret. Changed Settings. Switched to next.
    Then I kneel and pray. Go back to turret with changed setting.
    Wakalumpi........ The settings was saved. :)

    Another very cool feature added to this great game. I hope the people at EleonGameStudios do not listen to the wining people who only have played empyrion for ten hours at max and keep complaining. I think you guys are doing an awsome job with every patch the game just gets better and better.
