Can you control player respawn points on death?
For example if a player dies in an instance, I'd like them to spawn right at the gate entrance. Not somewhere random in the vicinity.

6.0 just introduced a "Player Spawner pads". But my impression was this was only intended as a destination for teleporters.

Player Spawn pads are markers when players start the game. (IE, not starting in an escape pod.)

I don't believe there is a way to for a player to start back at the beginning. You could place a clone/med bay there, but they would need to select it.

    Hmm that's unfortunate.

When I place a ship POI in a space playfield I don't want them to spawn in mid space and freezing to death after spawning.

That would be a terrible thing. Until Eleon adds an option to force them to a respawn point, you can place a clone/medbay on your ship/station and hope they take the suggestion to spawn there.

Since we can now make Medbays public this sounds reasonable.

This is me assuming we cannot bring CVs into an instance.

Do you mean fly into an instance? You can, but not via a portal. The instance would need to be a normal sector. There are other issues to be cautious of when you do this. For example, if the user disconnects while in the instance, you will want to ensure there is a delay before the instance is removed.

-Added suggestion on experimental forum for modifying player spawner to act as re-spawner aswell.
This would be handy to control, yea

I don't see anyone not finding it a useful option.

In an instance you CANNOT respawn there, it is designed so you spawn back at the playfield you left to go to the instance, forcing you to think and go prepared, so no you can not respawn in anyway inside an active Instance.

On a teleporter if you go to another planet you can respawn there.
Its not a separate instance though.

So to be able to spawn right by the instance stargate a player should lay a core, give it power and slap a clone bay down, or you as server owner can create an ADMIN POI with a medbay and players can spawn there and if that POI has the stargate on it then bingo your in business.
