    Greetings!

    For some time now I have seen the potential for a more organized form of multi-role crew gameplay in Empyrion. With the help of some great friends and a small server we're putting together we are starting to see that potential become a reality!

    The Empyrion Alliance is a roleplay server in which the various roles of operating a ship are divided to be executed cooperatively by the crew in order to run a Capital Vessel in a way similar to what you would see on a show like Star Trek or Battlestar Galactica.

    Here's a list of the roles we want to implement:

    Captain - Determines courses of action for the ship and crew and coordinates the crew to see them through.

    First Officer - Usually done in tandem with S.I.O. (see below). Assists the Captain by providing pertinent information and helping to organize crew operations.

    Helm - Pilots the ship as well as performing secondary function of Navigation.

    Weapons - Sets primary targets of ship's weapon auto-targeting systems as well as performing secondary function of Gunner.

    Engineer - Manages power allocation to appropriate systems via control pannel for energy efficiency and situations as they occur as well as monitoring ship hull and component integrity and maintaining fuel for ship's power.

    [2ndary] Medical Officer - Responsible for maintaining stock of medical supplies and supplying crew with appropriate treatments as needed. Also responsible for maintaining oxygen supply and life support systems.

    [2ndary] Quartermaster - Responsible for maintaining stock of crew equipment such as weapons, armor, tools, etc. and supplying crew with equipment needed to fulfill their duties.

    [2ndary] Fighter Pilot - Man fighter craft for interception and assault on enemy craft and installations. Coordinate with SIO as well as wing to achieve objectives

    [2ndary] Marine - Proficiency with firearms and tactics are required. Act in military operations for boarding enemy ships, assaulting enemy installations and act as security during away missions.

    [2ndary] Sensor Intelligence Officer (SIO) - Bridge Officer who monitors sensors and relays pertinent information to the captain as well as assisting Helm with navigation and coordinating Fighter Wing movements with the Wing Commander.

    [2ndary] Gunner - Mans a turret and fires at enemy targets, prioritizing targets by Captain's orders and objective benefit.

    [2ndary] DamRep (Damage Repair) - In the event that the ship and it's crucial systems are damaged DamRep crew members move to key areas and commence repairs on priority components as well as oversee/assist with repairs while docked/landed.

    [2ndary] Resource Acquisition - Crew members responsible for acquiring resources needed for ship and crew operations, whether it's harvesting raw resources or trading with traders for supplies.

    [2ndary] Agricultural Specialist/Chef (AS/C) - Responsible for mainting onboard farm/food supply and using ingredients available to supply sustaining meals for the crew to maintain health and fitness for operations.

    There will be a rank structure in place and etiquette to match including following orders from a superior officer, addressing them as "sir", etc. Bridge operation communication will be concise and efficient. Roleplat should be of a moderate tone; Try not to break character but still focused on fun.

    We will have a LARGE sector of space to explore: We are literally moving our starter planet to the edge of the map and pushing the limits of what the game can do. Each space playfield will be a simulated solar system itself (with a completely lava-surfaced planet as the "sun") and will have large distances between planets, essentially changing the scale of the game to a degree!

    Vessels will be standardized and shared cooperatively with limitations on personal vessels and bases. Only 1 personal base and 1 personal CV and SV or HV per player (to keep playerfields uncluttered and server load low) and any player-owned structure or vessel that does not fit the tone of the RP will be excluded from the RP.

    We have a crew of about 6 so far but I'd like to have at the very least 2 to 4 more. We're still looking for a solid helmsman to round out the bridge operation roles and if the server can handle it we may even incorporate more than one crew!
