    Some suggestions:

    - Make food stackable

    - Improve Orientation/Wayfinding, eg mark your base on map + put a compass arrow in the hud
    - placing free waypoints for fleet rendevouz/patrol missions

    The game needs improvemt in social tools which may help to act as teams and get more players! It yearns for it! Why all the plans for galactic vastness and these tools are not here already?! ;)

    - Implement a propper chat window eg in hud and later on a comm for ship/base consoles; a kind of pip boy is also possible

    - chat should help getting together: it needs a kind of friends list; faction, global, team - specialise communication. Allow short status messages like in path of exile: LF team; lf mining group, etc.

    - In the future you may implement some kind of Fleet organisation Structure eg like in Star Trek Online (in Research project tab). Your Fleet + Partner Fleets may share rights for base/resource usage; they may share research project and might contribute resources to building/research projects.

    - Yes i prefer research instead of dull xp systems. Its more immersive and open and needs just a simple console option like in good old UFO to have fun with it.

    - implement even one of these points and you do way better in pre-alpha than David Braben ;)

    - Drag and Drop would be nice instead of the current systen for grouping systems via menu.

    - Trade: Havent found many players yet to trade with. But a resource/Tech exchange of some kind would be nice. Also take a look at path of exile - nice and secure system. You may have to build a trade center or use a console for it - but i see potential to link fleeters and miner/traders in the future.

    - You may need a kind of credit system too but it would be great to have the oportunity to order/sell ships and blueprints and rake the the cash in :p

    I like this idea a lot. Maybe just holding shift and clicking a desired item sends it to inventory rather than the hotbar?

    Yes. Vehicle HUD is pretty bare bones at the moment. Hopefully, the DEVs are planning to give that some love in the near future. To add to what Dionysos has already listed.

    Damage Report that lists just the damaged components.
    -Should be visible as a window somewhere on the HUD, so that you don't have to stop flying to see it.
    -Toggle visibility via a hotkey so that you can move it out of the way. Maybe a multi-display window that either cycles through a set of reports--damage, environment info, landing info, etc.

    If the "R" Button is not busy while one is in a HV/SV/CV Cockpit, could it be made to be able to be pushed to Manually Reload all Vehicle Weapons from inside the Cockpit so one does not have to jump out, jump into each Turret, & manually Reload each one between Combats so ya don't risk, for example, going into Combat with your lone HV Minigun then finding out the hard way it was down to like 12 Ammo then having it have to waste time Reloading itself 2 seconds after ya engage & giving that Drone free extra damage?

    What this game really needs is ability to place waypoint in the map by simple click, small arrow or such to show which direction that waypoint is on minimap and a "loot all button" :D

    Also my friends always complain how difficult flying is, although I personally don't see anything faulty in it. Difference being that have played plenty of battlefield as a plane pilots and they always leave the base by pressing "w" and use roll for turning. I fly anything like a chopper so "space" for up and then turn while stationary and never ever touch the roll button :D

    I believe that Empyrion is not attempting to be a carbon copy of Space Engineers. Therefore, by necessity, the GUI should be distinct from Space Engineers to create a different play experience.

    I dislike the map and the radar system. It feels a little too simplistic for the scale.
    What I like is how you make very neat looking icons, though i wish they were a little more diverse at times.

    OK, I hope these aren't completely redundant, didn't have time to read the entire thread to check.

    1. Make it so you can move items between inventories with the scroll wheel - if I scroll the wheel over an item, transfers to the other inventory incrementally.

    2. Make a zoom option on the mini map

    3. toggle option for less intrusive drone tags - instead of the square + description + distance, I'd like to be able to just have the square sometimes, or something similar.

    4. (this may actually be a bug) Make the drone tag actually center on the drone, instead of a few meters over its head. I think it's really annoying to have this big tag, and not even have it on the actual drone. It makes it harder to gauge distance when a drone is coming over a mountain, for example.

    I am against this notion.

    There are so many items in these lists, and some lists have scrolling ability. To have random items be tossed one way or the other because I wanted to try and scroll the list... would tick me off to no end. To have to use a tiny little scroll bar, or button to actually scroll these lists, would be going backward in GUI progress.

    So, no. Do not implement #1 above.

    It may just be my mouse/computer, but scrolling up and down in the lists doesn't work for me, I have to click and drag. If scrolling works inn general, then you're right, it would cause problems to do it that way. I guess I need to submit a bug report.

    I would like to be able to see meteorites on the map like you can with ore deposits, after they have been discovered.
    This would make it easier to locate them when looking for resources..

    Yup, this is a bad idea, some appliances have two inventories, plus the playerinventory.
    How would you decide into which to transfer on MW-scroll? (rethorical question)

    Worse though: either you transfer a big amount per single mousewheelmovement,
    then you have no finecontrol and if you mistakenly ho0ver over something else, its gone,
    OR you transfer a small amount per mousewheelmovement, then you have to fiddle around so much with it,
    that it may end up being more work than just dragging it over manually.

    The GUI is horrible enough already, please lets not make it worse and first think things through properly.[/QUOTE]

    Here is a simple solution that does not ruin the exploration-aspect of the game and
    does not require any work for the devs:
    Build a baseblock at POIs that do not appear on the map by default.
    Then you can even RENAME them to your liking!

    Ok Ok, can we quit hating on this idea? It was just a suggestion, because I have played another game where this was introduced through a mod and worked beautifully. If you don't like it, fine, but it could work, and does in other games.

    First - love the new changes in Alpha. Definitely moving in the right direction for a fully *fun*ctional game.
    With the new changes in 1.3, I'd like to suggest a few tweaks to the UI, particularly in the upgraded control panel.
    1. Make all sub-systems have a return arrow (top left). Some of them like contructor don't. So you have to close the window, re-open the panel, and select cargo (for example).
    2. When you return to the main control panel, the last item opened should be the highighted item. That way if you are going through your cargo boxes for example, when you come back to that screen, you only have to select the next item on the list. Not scroll through your groups to find it.
    3. Would love to see a different HUD available, one that has more information on power consumption, ammo status, damage, etc. I know that's a huge change/undertaking - just throwing it out as an idea.
    4. And because I don't know where this would fit - some means to detect damaged blocks, other than relying on visual damage. You can't see that damage on thrusters or guns, and even on blocks in low light, it's tough. Maybe have the blocks "glow" when you are using your drone, or have the R&R tool equipped? When you have 18 thrusters and one of them is damaged, it's frustrating to track it down.

    Thanks again for the recent changes - enjoying them!

    Ya hold Shift to add 10 to something... any chance it could get added to be able to hold Ctrl to add 100 to a Item? Be especially useful to be able to hold Ctrl to be able to Order crafting of Ore into Ingots/Powder faster.

    That would be helpful for that case indeed! Even for ordering up 1000 steel plates lol... man I make a lot of those.

    My only other suggestion, is to allow us to drag a stack of ore to the queue bar, and have it do 'all of this stack'.

    Can I get a button that sorts inventor stuff a thing that rearanges everything you have like ore go here ammo there etc... Atm it's a mees

    It would be nice to access the color palate for lights and flare with RMB, much like the color & texture tools.

    Reduce physical Stress to our Fingers!!!

    I just came back from Akua Moon and had to slot 3k promethium pallets - click click click - my finger hurt. Beside that the massive clicking is an annoying sound for me and for other sound victims aka wife. When you have to move hughe quantities make it simple and managable with a few klick or a slider system.

    Same prob still is there with the T1 drill.
    I dont get why you dont substitute it with the T2. You have piles of ore and you have to pick it up with the T key which is nice for snigle pick ups like items. You had the critique for so long and the solution is still way to complicated. The T2 is no technical advantage it is there to fix the wrong design -> using single pickup for mass pickup. (Also an on/off keybind for mining would be nice so i dont have to hold my finger down for several minutes)

    And this is an issue in Multiplayer. For instance i started on several servers where the starting planets are overcrowded.

    So:

    a) you have a battle for resources between a lot of players
    b) you dont get xp fast enough to unlock the T2 (as i said elsewhere drop the damn unlock system like it is)
    c) Playfields like Akua Moon are sometimes bugged and no Neodym is dropping. So you need a Neodym donor or wait for the admin to restart server/reset playfield or collect enough res with hurting fingers to build a CV and look elsewhere.


    Especially the 2 tasks above are your daily bread in EGS. So pls instead of halfhearted solutions like an additional T2 - make it simple. At least as a temporal solution before something perfect comes along.
