    We just released a patch (4.0.2) that addresses some of the problems you reported.

    Changelog Pre-Alpha 4.0.2:

    Features:
    - Allow single player games in offline mode (however, Steam client must be running)

    Changes / Improvements:
    - Increased average size of resource deposits on Akua and Omicron
    - Increased average number of resource deposits on Ningues and Aestus
    - Increased drop rate of Sathium Ore (Asteroids) and Crushed Stone

    Bug Fixes:
    - Fixed problem that single player games showed up in server browser
    - Fixed problem that map was sometimes wrong when connecting to a dedicated server
    - Fixed problem that Turret Minigun (HV) also appeared in tech tree of SV
    - Fixed problem that some NPCs (e.g. Alien Insect on Akua) did not attack correctly on dedicated servers

    Notice:
    We are working hard on a PvP/PvE/ownership/faction system to prevent griefing.

    EDIT:
    - To fix a Peer-to-Peer connection problem, we released a small patch (Build 227).
    - There is no need to update the dedicated servers

    sweet work , now waiting for servers to update.

    as for faction system , would be sweet if joining a faction automatically gave you access , but the faction leader could still decide what items you can use and what items you cant use , or assign roles

    good job, we are indeed in need of resources xP. Too bad that spots with resources dont heal back overtime.

    Griefing is a huge problem atm >D

    That's what mining companies also say these days. There'd be no need to buy all these rare earth minerals from China otherwise. :D

    keep losing connection most of yesterday until night then I couple keep my connection without much trouble... not this morning I'm dropping connection again.
    internet is slowish in this area but I can normally keep connected on other servers. looks like I'll only be playing multi here at night can't stay connected for more than about 30 sec atm

    I haven't played multiplayer yet this patch. So mining resources don't replenish? that seems like it would suck. So server admins don't have any kind of ability to schedule any kind of periodic refresh for resources yet?

    Also what happens to your stuff when you logout? Does it still stay in the world and anyone can use it? Seems like it would be hard to really achieve anything in a 24/7 server. I guess everyone would have to be hiding bases completely underground then?

    No offense, but pushing multiplayer before having more than one solar system for resources seems kind of tailor-made for resource warring and griefing.

    Oh well, here's hoping for the next update. And getting rid of those pesky polar exclusion zones.

    Whoops you guys forgot changelog for 4.0!

    CHANGELOG 4.0:
    Features:
    * Dedicated Servers
    * Added Steam authentication
    * Added Server browser
    * Added new POI on Omicron ("Walker Base" by J0BA2)
    * Ship Controller : if HV is lying upside down, it can activate via Left Shift an emergency horizontal rotation flip to get back to its flying position

    Changes / Improvements:
    * Improved ship controller
    * Added info messages: player enters, leaves etc
    * Balanced tech tree: now HV is available already at Lvl 2. Reduced lvl for selected HV equipments (turrets, etc)
    * Increases time after which dropped ores disappear

    Not YET. The devs are working on a solution :)

    As stated in the devblog: a PvP/PvE/Ownership system is on its way!!

    Well in another thread a guy claims he made a tool to reset resources so...and my 2nd question I was more concerned about the persistence of your base not ownership persay. Does stuff persist if the server gets shutdown by accident (oops I kicked the power cord)? My bigger point was, how are you expected to be able to protect your stuff since you can't be online 24/7 if your base persists...

    replenishing should take ALLOT of time , but thats when we have a galaxy lol .

    So who was the guy arguing with me about planet size being enough ? Now we can exactly see how at least a 10x larger planet would barely suffice when allot of players are in for the kill .

    One more thing , why are the sectors divided in separate parts ? The reason the dedicated server is taking 3gb is because its being treated as a separate map or a game or something as far as i understand , 4 or 5 exes start in the task manager.

    This is not a question on your ability or a demand , but why cant the server be seamless ? like kerbal space program every part is accessable with out any kind of loading or transition or separation into play fields ( yes it has a multiplayer mod as well )

    just a few things im curious about , and why they were chosen to be there even if placeholders

    I was only playing a bit on the #1 connection lost survival server yesterday and didn't pay THAT much attention. Saw Turret in SV, was exited and went to sleep with 1kkk Ideas for SV with turrets :p

    Well i found a Flaw in your Design...Kind of Figured this would happen
    My generator got destroyed...Now what do i do?......Wish we still had that Pod or the survival construct...any ideas?

    If you fixed nothing else, hugs for doing this.
    When my Charter cable goes out, or Steam refuses to login, I can't play.

    Each playing field is its own instance so that is why you see multiple processes of Empyrion. The processes talk to the DED process to synchronize the drawing and messaging of your character to make it looks seamless.

    I'm told the reason the playing field is split up is due to some precision problem in Unity5 rendering and physics engine in a very large world grid. One way to deal with this problem is to breakup the world grid into multiple playing fields like what has been done and use some coding magic to glue them together so the disparate pieces feels seamless to the player.

    The server list (of multiplayer games to join) needs "sort by" for each of the four properties.
