Hello Galactic Survivalists! Phase 2 of the version 1.7 Experimental release has just been started! This update will introduce a few testing planets of a completely new decoration system! For example, the grass under your feet/vehicle will now react correctly to you and your movement and other actions. In addition, we will increase the number of available decorative elements (i.e. plants, trees, stones, etc.) by more than 200, so that entirely new biomes and planet types will be possible in the future. You can find three test planets for now: A temperate planet and a gas giant snow moon can be found in the system with the sun type 'ContAr1a95'. The third one, an alien type planet, can be found in the center of the galaxy (search for sun type ‘SMbh’). Use the ‘Search SYSTEM’ button on the galaxy map and type in the sun types to the TYPES field. Note: If you have already visited these systems before the Experimental Update, the test planets will not be found there. We recommend starting a new savegame. Also note that these planets might or might not be added to the final release, depending on your feedback and the issues that might need to be fixed. Speaking of things to review: the status effects system, i.e. the diseases including how to heal them, has also been extensively revised and added to this phase update. While the status effects themselves have been largely retained, their interactions have been newly coordinated. There is now also the possibility of using a 'lesser' medicine, although it cannot cure a certain disease, to slow down the progression of that disease! For the status effects as well as for the new decoration system, please head over to the feedback threads pinned in the EXPERIMENTAL forum! As always please note: Report bugs and issues right over here: https://empyriononline.com/forums/bugs.34/ Fixed bugs for the Experimental branch can be found here: https://empyriononline.com/forums/tracking-filed.91/ Fixed Experimental version bugs can be found there: https://empyriononline.com/forums/fixed.90/ For discussing the new and updated features, please head over to the Experimental Feedback forum: https://empyriononline.com/forums/experimental-features-discussion.35/ Changes: v1.7 B3612 New Deco system update: - DECO TEST planet added with new terrain decoration. Go to galax map and search for the 'ContAr1a95' and ‘SMbh’ sun types ( system search > type search). These planets are currently set up to show some of the upcoming new deco for terrain. See here for more information & where to leave feedback https://empyriononline.com/threads/exp-1-7-new-deco-testing-planets.99073/ Status system update As mentioned above the status effects system has been extensively revised please use this thread for more information about changes & where to give feedback: https://empyriononline.com/threads/exp-1-7-status-effects-rework.99072/ Misc: - Reverted change in ship rotation - Updated Derpacks POI (Exclusively found in Polaris Homeworld Orbit) - Changed POI sound of Aeon Club POI (Exclusively found in Trader Homeworld Orbit) - Empyriopedia: Deactivated Doctors Journal, Biologists Guide, Explorers Journal for the time being in order to avoid confusion between game updates until relevant game and mechanic changes are finalized. - Swapped galactic position of Containment Areas 1a95 and 13b7 to better fit mission progress - PlayerDrone: adjusted movement/rotation so that it uses less momentum to get it nearer to the player controller. Use key "AutoLevel" to toggle between "Z rotation enabled" on and off Fixes: - Motorbike camera ‘shaking’ & exception that appears in MP when sitting on the motorbike - Laser pistol iron sight is not correct - Fix for an exception that can appear mostly when near POI’s that was reported by players https://empyriononline.com/forums/tracking-filed.91/
Going to the new planets today. Update : The new temperate planet looks nice....Tall tress but still breach CV hulls The view on the planet's surface looks Utopian....
Its nice to see visual improvements. Looks really good, especially third screenshot. By the way, I think that planets in Empyrion are too similar to each other now, and this announcement looks like a solution of this problem. Game worlds needs caves, deep oceans where you can explore something, rivers e.t.c. I hope to see that in future. Thank you for moving in this direction to make planets more interesting and various.
Cool. I started a fresh game on a temperate planet in a "ContAr1a95" star system. I basically started a new game and teleported there. This world is VERY pretty indeed, but is pushing my ageing 1070 a bit harder while using my usual game settings...hold 55 or so fps, which is ok. My first observation would be how the grass - I love how dense it is - doesn't move quite right as I move through it. It doesn't appear to push away from me as I walk through it in third-person view, rather it "folds" towards me and into the ground a bit. Doesn't look quite right yet, and the effect doesn't make me feel like I'm moving through long grass due to the movement being a bit wrong. Just roaming around to see if I can actually survive here, no signs of anything edible yet lol. Edit: I assume this world is planned to be a starter option eventually, considering where I've teleported to on the surface is a "Crash Site" biome. However, there are none of the usual "starting area" goodies, such as harvestable plants, resource rocks, or critters. Perhaps those are yet to come. fps now in the low-50's, still ok though, but we'll see how the new terrain and a sizeable POI impact performance. I'm aware my GPU is getting a little old, but it's still pretty decent for 1080p play... Btw: I'm getting constant spam of this message: Warning/GameAnalytics: Event queue: Failed to send events to collector - retrying next time They pop up every 6-7 seconds.
The testing planets have no POI and no creatures for now. (So thats intentional - you can fully concentrate on the deco )
Cool, that's what I assumed. Will we get to test them during this Experimental fully enabled? So, critters, surface rocks, harvestable plants, POI's etc. I think considering these new environments are pushing hardware - especially GPU - quite a bit harder, it'd be good to test that. Oh, one other thing I noticed. While swimming near the surface from the 3rd person view, if I tap space to go up, my character was changing from the swimming to the walking animation...yep, I was walking on water
something odd I noticed not sure if its a bug or not. But the bandages no longer treat/cure a broken leg. has that changed? if so the Tortoal needs updated
Here - > https://empyriononline.com/threads/exp-1-7-status-effects-rework.99072/ may be the reason for that. Many of the changes are not yet applied in the description of the items in question. Will take time.
I'd really like to check out these new test planets but cant work out how to get there. I could only find the Alien one in the galaxy map, the other one didnt appear - but im not sure how to teleport there. Can someone explain step by step how i can go see these new test planets? I assume from Creative game mode?
Open your Galactic Map, use the search function, -> A temperate planet and a gas giant snow moon can be found in the system with the sun type 'ContAr1a95'. The third one, an alien type planet, can be found in the center of the galaxy (search for sun type ‘SMbh’). Use the ‘Search SYSTEM’ button on the galaxy map and type in the sun types to the TYPES field Use your console and type in teleport to get the options available OR travel with a CV there.(as I did and that takes a while)
As Germanicus said use Search in the Galaxy map to find them, open the Galaxy Map press 'Search sytem' and in the search window in the 'Type' put the name "ContAr1a95", this is required because the sector name and planet name change in each seed, so then in the console type in "sector" and name of the systems sun to get to the system and then type "Teleport" and the name of the planet you want to go to Here, all the info.... https://empyriononline.com/threads/exp-1-7-new-deco-testing-planets.99073/
There is too much white fog I think. It makes the picture worse. At 10:05 green fir-trees looks better than snow covered. Maybe devs should leave them green? The water is awesome.
i agree i'm not a fan of the either. alot of the new trees /plants look really good along with the water
