    Fact:
As we know, when an Asteroid is COMPLETELY mined out, it DOES NOT respawn.
Pois that respawn, even if completely deconstructed, WILL respawn no matter what.

    The Issue:
The Asteroid Respawn Issue can occur in 2 ways for the most part:

1- A "New" Player mines out the Asteroid completely because he DOES NOT know that it will not respawn.

2- There are some Griefers out there that will purposely mine out complete systems, of ALL Asteroids to effectively Grief certain players or clans.

    Solution:
    Either
1- Turn on Asteroid Respawn (by devs) so that it will respawn even if it is completely mined
2- If an Asteroid is completely mine out, create a random respawn of that material, just like on planets with meteors.

    Argument:
With there being so many systems and the "Galaxy" is so much bigger now (which I love!!!) it can be much harder to go grind resources when Asteroids are completely mined out. In a way, this is unfair and the devs should look at this. All it takes is ONE bad person to go around and completely deplete all asteroids. I know this because it is occurring right now on the US Official Server that I play on.

I think others will agree on this. I can't imagine any reason why anyone would want to allow potential new players and griefers to be allowed to do this.

    Thanks Eleon!!!

  2. That's incorrect.
POI's follow the same exact respawning rules as asteroids.

If you remove every last block and device of a POI it can no longer respawn either.
POI's just usually have blocks underground that players miss, hence why it seems different. It's the exact same though.

They can't change this either without completely redoing how respawning works from the ground up.

Well I can tell you I have totally removed every single block of a respawnable poi on a planet at least 3 times over the last month on the official US server and it respawned every time. Also other players on this server who have done so verify that planet pois will respawn, even if all blocks are removed. Also, these pois are NOT a type where they might have any hidden in ground blocks. These are blocky square type ones where it is clear where all sides and bottom is.

have you looked at the POI in creative to be sure there are no blocks hidden several meters away. That is what i would do if i was building a POI so that the respawn issue did not happen. I have also seen completely disassembled POI respawn and then on the next time, someone did it it did not respawn.

I knew I had read somewhere that there is a tool to bring back POI that are completely wiped.
This is a quote from RexXxus in another forum about a related topic.

"You are right, at least with ingame mechanics.
    Like Asteroids.
But if we do the EAH timetable command “wipe poi”, then we can get all back.
Could still be tricky, if a player built at that position the POI was a base. Then after the server restart they glitch inside each other… all nasty stuff.

    But there are bigger issues."

If your server admin is using EAH and using the "wipe poi" command you can remove all blocks and the poi will come back. This is fraught with danger as a generalization. It is my belief that lots of servers do not use this combination and on those servers, if you remove all blocks the poi will be cone "forever".

This leads me to the practice that it is always best to leave several blocks of a poi because if you take them all and then find the server is not using, EAH and using the "wipe poi" command, the poi is gone unless you can get the server admin to do a lot of work. On servers where they are using, EAH and using the "wipe poi" command, it costs you what a couple of ingots equivalent of iron, possibly a little sathium or titanium, or heavens forbid some rock.

The bottom line just always leave a bit of rock from space asteroids, just a little of a ground deposit (10%), and just a couple of blocks of a POI when on servers. You might not always have to but it is good practice.

  6. That is because they used either EAH or the wipe commands to bring it back.

The games built in respawn mechanic is 100% incapable of respawning a POI or asteroid if they get completely removed by players.
This is a known limitation of the respawn mechanic.

Wipe commands and EAH are different and have nothing to do with the built in respawn mechanic.
