Whenever I lose connection to the server, and I log back in, my character is still connected to whatever container he was connected, but everything that was in my hotbar, is gone. It doesn't return to the connected container, nor does it drop on the ground. It just seems to evaporate.
Is there a way to find the lost stuff again?

  2. It's a known bug with the virtual hotbar in multiplayer.
The bug has existed ever since they first added logistics to the game.
They are aware of it but have never tried to fix it. No planned fix anytime soon either.

The items are deleted by the game. There is no getting them back other than using the item menu.

Sadly the devs don't even consider it a bug. So getting it fixed probably won't happen anytime soon (or ever).

The only way the above is not classed as a bug is if the devs intend you to loose then items in your hotbar. Very strange.

A software bug, is really any behaviour in the system that does not meet the general serviceability expectations of a product. Basically all bugs are merely undocumented features.
