    Hi Galactic Survivalist!

We recently completed the technical integration of the gas giants. Similar to the new suns, you cannot land or fly to the gas giant itself, but they will offer more than enough moons for your exploration demands.

Time for a few impressions of this milestone progress. :)

    Cheers,
    Empyrion Dev Team

    Magically.

Can ordinary planets be located around gas giants? Desert, tropical e.t.c. Or only moons?

Are we ever going to be able to fly into these? They could just act like a space with a nebula effect and unique resources like gas collection

Really awesome job you all! Before I found Empyrion I would play no man's sky and wished to visit stars and gas giants. I sure hope in future alphas stars are made more dangerous (Gravity, radiation, heat issues = magnetic shield?)and gas giants get limited atmosphere? or something? Anyways great job and look forward to alpha 12!

Currently only moons (which are basically Size 2 planets). But we plan to allow more/different orbital types (but not real "planets" for now)

So they are going to be just for scenery. No other usage of the gas giants.

    I have a question :
Tellurics planets/moons can have also rings or we can see rings from the surface because from the defaut scenario of Akua-Omicron, Akua have already rings.
Great job and have a nice week.

But remember in a custom scenario any planet can be made into a moon. :D

I've been moaning about gas giants since I joined this game several years ago. And here we are. Even if they're just scenery, they're so bloody beaurtiful and immersive. Amazing!

    I am in awe!

In terms of the visual relation, are they going to be to scale in respect to the distance they are from a planet?

Too often , currently, the planets appear much larger from the surface of a planet than they do, respectively, from the actual distance they are in space.

Looking forward to all the development to come!

The gas giants are spell-binding. I am afraid the Zirax and I will both just stand around staring at the sky!

:DIn fact, any type of moon is possible, only depending on their distance from the sun and whether they have liquid water.I dope devs can understand it

    Fantastic. very beautiful planets.
    But.....
I would like to give a suggestion: _ The Galaxy needs a re-reading, because it is aesthetically small, due to the exaggeration of color. The fact that there is little space left in the sky design makes the perspective ineffective.
The sky that most reaches reality is the default akua / omicron,
with a good color balance between empty space and nebulae.
The skies, red, blue and green, are exaggerated.
    stifle aesthetics.
The aesthetic of the sky looks as if the sky is painted with a brush.
It would be nice to soften the effect to look like clouds or smoke.
(I speak with, knowledge of the cause. In fact, I am a plastic artist) thanks.

I would love to see the effect present during daylight.

I doubt you'll see anything like it... From a moon... with no atmosphere...
