    Hi Galactic Survivalists,

    we now released A10.4 (Build 2542) to the EXPERIMENTAL branch. This is actually the same content as the public A10.3 but built with the 2019.1 version of the Unity engine - we didn't want to wait again as long as from 2017 to 2018 :)
    So, no changelog today.

    Please test if all works as you know it from A10.3 and report any irregularities here - thanks for your ongoing support!!

    Any specifics you can give us on the Unity update? Any particular refinements/improvements we should be "on the look-out" for?

    What does changing to the new Unity engine give you the chance to do down the road? What does it potentially add for later?

    Just new tools, upgrade versions, bug fixes. Overall better way of doing things.

    Upgrading something is most of the time a good thing

    Hey Taelyn,

    Just got through "phase one" of a new game under 2542 - meaning: planet fall, explore/harvest crash site, mine out starter deposits, beef up starter POI a bit, and spawn in my starter SV or HV... thus far, all's well.

    In fact, I can't as yet detect any difference whatsoever from the 2539 game I started yesterday.

    I'll play this one through some more and let you know if anything not already reported/new pops up.

    I'm noticing a very nice liquid smooth feeling to flying now that wasnt there before. Did Unity add some nice momentum effects for spcaecraft?


    NICE! Looks like an Alt-Tab problem thou.

    Run a T2 Drill and Alt-Tab without releasing the primary attack (drill still ON as Alt-Tab is pressed)

    I noticed that the mines in the POI minefield are not completely destroyed when you set them off now.

    Anyone else experiencing excessive FPS drops since this update? I'm flying over a Forest during "Mostly Cloudy" weather and my FPS is dipping into the mid-40's and sometimes as low as 25fps. The only thing that's caused comparable fps issue before was the weird raining + night + some POI's issue.

    Not much time to play, but will keep an eye on this.

    I get massive amounts of tearing now, running on Windows 10 with dual monitors, using a 970, i7 4710 with 16gb. Still running at 40-50 fps but it seems like v-sync has gone. I don't see an option to enable it.

    I tried different resolutions and windowed/full-screen modes with no change. Tried to set the pre-set graphics settings to low and the game locked up then crashed.

    Restarted and set all graphics settings as low as possible - still huge amounts of tearing and completely unplayable. I forced v-sync to enable through my graphics driver and this has made it playable, still has some minor tearing and it forces it to run on my secondary screen, not my primary.

    I'll keep tinkering with settings but it's far from ideal right now.

    Would this upgraded Engine allow for a removal of outside light effects inside buildings and the renewal of Darkness within?

    I've not spent much time in game lately, however, I've noticed that several of my Bases - which have been attacked in the past - are all saying "Now" in regards to the next attack, but I've had no attacks in several game days.

    I'm doing the rounds of all these bases, spending time on them doing stuff, yet still no attacks. Has something broken? Is anyone else seeing this? I can upload my save if needed.

    I haven't seen such a issue with base attacks yet.
    Does or did this also happen in public branch B2539 on unity 2018 ?
    Does typing 'ba check' in to the console clear it ?

    Can you send me your save game so I can check it out ?
