    Hi Galactic Survivalists

Based on your feedback, we improved the Voxel calculation for mass and hitpoins of building blocks: while mass and hitpoints are still correlated to the size of the building block (ie shapes with more Voxels have higher mass/hitpoints), we adapted the formula that maps the Voxel count on mass/hitpoints.

Now, the smallest shape has the same mass/HP as in A9.3. From the mass/HP of the smallest shape, we interpolate to the max mass/HP of the largest shape (= full cube). Before, we interpolated from basically zero mass/HP to the max mass/HP of the largest shape, which resulted in overall lower mass/HP for all structures. Now, the mass/HP of an average structure should be roughly the same as in A9.3.

Please let us know what you think of this change and if it now "feels" right again.

This is a really good change eleon, keep up the astounding work!

On a side note, will CPU be balanced in a future patch? It feels pretty limiting at the moment

CPU is not active yet. So no Balancing soon at all.

I think they should really focus on that. Builders like jrandall and xcaliber could really benifit from having this knowledge early

I think that's a good point, but I also think that there's no way to know how the system will ultimately work until it's out of experimental so builders won't really be able to prepare anyway.

When do you plan on increasing the hitpoints of all external cockpit blocks?

I'd love to see armored cockpits.

I worded that wrong, i meant it more as "the sooner the better". Because the longer it's in, the longer suboptimal designs are made (because they are trying to appease to a limit that is not correct)

I think they should have kept the CPU values hidden so people wouldn't stress over trying to build within it when it's so so likely to change.

It shouldn't even be visible yet. There's no sign of how it will be balanced and properly incentivize creativity through balancing tradeoffs between different capabilities of a ship along with diminishing returns (exponential or at least super-linear cost of performance increases). Once those things are determined, then it can be considered. We're nowhere near that.

Agreed.. I have been "one shotted" out of my cockpit by Zirax 3 times in my current SP playthrough :(

...The bug report link in the OP points to a closed thread.

Bug reporting has changed. Follow the instructions and create a new thread per-issue. This helps keep things much more organized.

    Ah, I see. Thanks.
Still probably a good idea to put this information directly in the OP instead of in the locked bug thread were people tend to scroll right past it because they don't expect a change in reporting method.

Just have to say, the new reporting method is MUCH MUCH BETTER, and it's easier to see what bugs are still open, and which have been reported fixed.

The Devs have been posting on threads when items should be fixed so people can test in the next release, and it's easier to see all the info for a particular problem.

And easier to follow: I watch the forum for new reports, and then watch each new thread to keep up-to-date on known issues.

Guilty. I scroll right past it because its so full of colors bolds italics centers, size changes... it reminds me of a website made in the 90s ;) So my inherent 'blinders' turn on and I scroll by it without reading any of it.

dont see why you must single out 2 builders like they are special to need to know ahead of the rest of us.

CPU dont exist and nobody cares about it until it does.

@EleonGameStudios dick move place holding this feature in game with no functionality or information, you caused so much spam and useless nonsense with it.

Should have left it out until you knew yourselves what it is and what you want to do with it...
So far its caused nothing but concern and speculation surrounded by caution and intrigue.
Tired of seeing people talk about a non existent feature like its half implemented and functioning.

We mentioned early on that CPU is not meant to be worked out anytime soon - so we did not pretend that would need to be reflected at any point.
