Cargo weight at vessel weight. Is total weight not increased thereby?

I have a question. I wanted to see if my ship still takes off with freight. So I set the value to true in the corresponding yaml file (creative game) and expected that the weight of my cargo would be counted towards the weight of the ship. Unfortunately that did not work, what am I doing wrong?

 

Volume and mass do not work in creative mode. Survival mode only.

 

is there a console command to switch between creative and survival?

 

Yes, changemode, but it tends to crash the game from what I hear
