The Jumpship is a cheap, lightweight external warpdrive carrier for SVs that are not warp-capable and lack the CPU, space or resources to mount a warpdrive on a dedicated combat vessel. Unladen, it's maneuverable and fast with it's low weight, average lift and strong thruster arrangement. It has extremely thin armor and an exposed cockpit, making it extremely fragile.

It possesses powerful drive thrusters to get any docked ship up to speed in order to warp, but this is not recommended for heavily-laden cargo vessels as it's still Tier 1 and limited by the strength of thrusters that it can mount with the remaining CPU. As such, it has no utilities and barely enough O2 tank space to keep the lone cockpit pressurized.

The jumpship should be abandoned in orbit or at a trade station and re-docked to on return for the journey home. Attempting to lift-off from a planet with the jumpship is ill-advised due to the low carrying capacity of the vertical thrusters.
