Mode: Creative + Survival + Freedom mode Mode: Singleplayer, most likely also multiplayer SERVER NAME: N/A SEED-ID: All seeds Reproducibility: Always Severity: Trivial Type: Vehicles Summary: You can continue cruising after shutting off thrusters, thus using less fuel Description: It's possible to fly a ship (SV or CV or HV) without burning fuel (some energy is used for other devices like turrets though), by starting movement, entering cruise mode with shift+w , and then turning thrusters off in the control panel. Not only does it continue moving, it accelerates, you can change direction, counter gravity by pointing the ship at an upwards angle, and you will not be stopped by atmospheric resistance. I've been testing this with mass/volume enabled. With mass that exceeds what your forward thrusters can cope with, you'll grind to a halt. If you push any movement key, you'll stop (and plummet since thrusters are off). But by just pointing the ship with the mouse, you'll keep accelerating until max speed, and keep going. It happens in space + atmosphere, + allows you to transition between the two. Steps to Reproduce: Get in a ship, turn it on, including engines, take off, start moving forward, use shift+w to enter cruise mode, turn autobrake off. Enter control panel, turn thrusters off. Continue flying without engines... Screenshots, Crash Logs, any other Relevant Information or Download links: N/A
this is not a bug! it's physics, inertia. That's cool. You really need to walk in the ship while it's flying by inertia
It is a bug. There's a massive difference between drifting under inertia and being propelled by thrusters that are turned off.
Fixed in A10 please check the Experimental section for the A10 exp release https://empyriononline.com/forums/announcements.36/ which should be tomorrow as of writing this if all goes well.
@Pantera You bummed me out: I was hoping it'd be today. I was looking forward to breaking testing it...
