Derelict Mining Ship POI feedback

    'Derelict Mining Ship' was just added to the starter planet orbit for your dungeoneering pleasure.

    It's a ship that I built - and then destroyed again and made a 'space dungeon' out of it.

    It's my first dungeon style POI so I any feedback is welcomed! Please have a go and answer couple questions once you've finished it (either succesfully or not):

    -Was it fun?
    -Did you play it solo or as a group?
    -Was it too easy or too hard?
    -Could you find many story items to discover more about what happened to the ship?
    -Could you find a route to the core without taking the ship apart?

    Derelict Mining Ship POI update (thanks for your feedback):
    - Made the entrance bit more visible, easier to spot where you should start
    - Added couple lights to steer you into right direction once inside
    - Opened all the hatches and lattices so that you don't have to destroy a single block in order to go thru this dungeon (also makes the 'correct' path bit easier to spot)
    - Minor tweaks here and there
    - playfield_static.yaml: Added group name "DungeonSpace" for BP Group

    Originally, I did not immediately understand that it is necessary to go through the hidden passages lattices. If you have sufficient preparation, it is quite simple. Was held for about 30 minutes, only died once from the spiders (did not expect) all the other mobs kill it in flight and not a danger, well, except for robots. I would recommend adding aliens with different weapons. For myself I can say, my biggest fear is an alien with a shotgun, they are the most dangerous opponents.

    I hate zyrex shotguns, they almost always 1HK. Maybe aliens with lasers. I don't know if they would fit the story though.

    Been gone for a while. Decided to make an actual account on here instead of my steam account...

    This update is very promising. And Derelict POIs. Of course. About to hop on and play. I will come back when I have feedback.
    My main point right now is that I love the concept and idea of Derelict and infected POIs in space and on astro surfaces.

    The Mining vessel is not a "military compound" so having Soldiers there would not really fit the plot imho.

    Yes, I, too, hate the shotguns, and the assault suit maximum armor, not to be killed with the first shot. But without them there would not be that sharpness of sensations.


    Not for that, it could be for other scenarios.

    I enjoyed it; thanks for your effort @rainyday However, I found it very hard to figure out where to start. Don't know if the game mechanics allow this, but it would be great to have some kind of signal as you approach that tells you (for example), that the last crew member evacuated through a particular hatch/door (maybe give it a number?), which is now the only way in. So that you could start there and work your way round. Instead, I blasted through a window in the middle of the fractured ring and had to work my way back and forth, reading the "story" and instructions in the wrong order. Also, like @Sgy-x2 I didn't get the lattices at first, and some of the passageways are hard to find/get into. So, I ended up blasting open Cargo Bay 2 from space, then blowing a hole in the Xeno block wall, killing a lot of aliens in the process. So, I'm not sure if there should have been a "victory" or mission completed message of some kind, but I didn't get one.

    Still, a very promising idea and a great direction for the future. However, the design (like the Abandoned Drone Base, which I found and also enjoyed), does show the limitations of the blocks; nothing looks very organic. Hope Eleon find a way round this at some point in the future.

    @Flash Hendricks There isn't any actual mission based on this POI - atleast not yet - but it's a good idea and maybe devs will pick it up :)
    Was the need to use jetpack obvious or do you think there should be somekind of reminder for it? What passages did you find hard to get into? I already made some effort to open up the 'correct path' a little bit so it should be bit easier to follow atleast (not yet implemented in the game). Including making the 'starting point' bit more visible.

    I figured out the jetpack eventually, but the vertical, slightly blocked passageways where the hardest to recognise as possible pathways. Once you start blowing off weak cover plates, it becomes a bit more obvious. No idea if the game mechanics will eventually permit this, but a POI like yours would benefit from the kind of hints you get in Tomb Raider or Assassin's Creed Origins, e.g. that "this section of wall looks weak..." But a clearer starting point would probably be the most important.

    I found one more off camera during the multitool tear up. But if there are more i shall head back there and poke some more holes to find the others. :p
    Really great job btw - was a refreshing change from the normal POIs.
