When you plant a fiber plant sprout it only gives 2 plant fibers instead of 8 like in the discription.

Is your report from the Vanilla version or do you play by chance PE/RE?
I asked because the yield these days in Vanilla is 2. While RE/PE yields or yielded more like 8

  4. Just now in a 100% vanilla game the tool tip tells me yield is 8.
I've heard multiple people say yield isn't actually 8 as stated. I just haven't bothered to test.
In-game it definitely claims the yield is 8 in vanilla though.

It's due to a generic Find and Replace being used to quickly change the configs for 1.5 to reduce the fiber yield from terrain-grown fiber plants.
The sprout and the harvestable crop are two different objects.

Block 1369 SnakeweedStage3 is the player-grown harvestable crop. The count is set to 2 instead of 8. Likely mistaken for being a terrain crop... despite having the earlier stages of growth and the sprout right next to it...

Hello all, has there been any updates on this issue?
Are they currently working on fixing this yield issue?
Sorry for responding to an older post but didn't want to start a new one with same issue if someone has more answers.

Well thank you for the update and hopefully they'll address it or add it to things to fix, I know its small but would be helpful to be correct.
Thanks again for your time and Ill keep enjoying the game anyways.

I received the Info that it will be dealt with at the beginning of next year together with the change to the current Plant Fiber Model.

Seems someone forgot to give Eleon the memo.
They changed the model for the wild plant but still didn't fix the bug with the farmable version.

Maybe they meant the beginning of the next next year.

Last time I brought this up I was told by others (not by a dev though) that a hard coded change was needed to address this, even though it's literally a 10 second fix in the config files. I tried to bring it up several times now and it has still not been fixed.

Facts. Literally took me about 10-15 seconds to search for, find, and fix this issue (over a year ago).

    lol
Probably took as long to change the header to filed/tracking as it would have taken to fix the oversight in the first place. Seriously.

I have given up on this. I think the Devs want the yield to be 2 and not 8. Harvesting some of the much larger bushes that give fiber only yields 3 to 5. They just need to fix the tooltip for the sprout to say 2 and not 8.

The yield is still 2 in 1.10.
You just hid the yield from all of the crops UI by commenting it out, so now nobody knows what to expect from any of the crops.

    Sure, fixed.

    Edit
Also, yes I do understand that the yield was moved elsewhere in the config files under the DropOnHarvest property, but you left out a display property on that new location.
That results in no yield at all in the UI description. This is true for all player crops now.

A lack of harvest amount shown might make sense if all the crop types were the same, but they aren't and have varying yields.
For example there are multiple crops that yield vegetables, all with varying yields that is now lacking from the UI.
This leaves players with a sense of confusion on why they have varying growth times without knowing the yields vary as well.

Just my 2 cents on this fix.
