I'm an older gamer in my opinion (47) who got his start on classics like Everquest and Asheron's Call. At the time, online Sci-Fi games, or "space games" in general were in short supply, and I had to settle for single player offerings. Earth and Beyond finally came along (Anarchy Online was perhaps Sci-Fi but only because it was futuristic, no space). This is my first game of it's type (although I hear there are "dinosaurs" in another survival game (LOL!) this one has always been a little more laid back, and less punishing, as I understand it.
My first MMO was Lineage 2, but for me it too ugly and boring. Than i have found World of Warcraft Burning Crusade 2.4.2 patch on that moment. Famous universe, familiar characters and history, thats more cool than unknown LA 2.
my first computer was a Radio Shack TRS 80 (the little Timex TV computer doesn't count. Then had a Tandy 1000..gaming didn't start till then, but offline of course..Space Quest. First computer with a modem was used for MUDs..i guess that counts as an online rpg, even if it was all text, but i don't count them till they became graphical..and that was Asheron's call, followed by Everquest and a huge host of others as time went on
Welcome! This is a good community. Feel free to ask questions. Iirc, there were some D&D games on BBS way back when. Text was all you could do over a 300 baud phone modem.

I don't remember the model of the first computer I worked on. I do remember that it was built by Control Data Corporation back when Seymour Cray was still working for them.
