Game type: SP, survival Seed: 154816 Summary: The end-game Legacy planet type was found in the starting Ellyon sector. Severity: Kind of depends on how important it is to have the Legacy planet far away. Type: Playfields, territories. Description: I am fairly certain the end-game Legacy planet type is not supposed to be in the starter solar system, but upon starting a test survival game, there it was. In addition, I found a desert planet (same solar system) with Zirax, Polaris, Trader, Pirate, AND Kriel POIs and territories on it. I am not 100% sure that either of these issues are a bug, but I am fairly certain that they aren't by design. Especially the Legacy playfield. Note: These do seem like two separate bugs, but I am including them together in case the presence of the Legacy planet is somehow allowing Kriel and other territories where they should not be. If the two issues are not related, I will gladly separate the bug reports. Just let me know. I have included several screen shots, showing first the Kriel territory on the Desert planet (outside of any territory, Ellyon system), then the Legacy planet (starter system), then the game seed data as shown by the console when I first loaded the savegame, then the console data when the Legacy planet loaded (in case that's relevant). Let me know if more information is required. This game was started at 12.4. P.S. The legacy playfield looks awesome btw! Great work!
I have not investigated other seeds, no. This is the first time I've noticed this. I've run one other test survival game around 12.1 and don't recall seeing it there. I can fire off a few more test games and see if it happens again, if that will help. Let me know.
If don't mind trying a few new games with random or maybe some regular seeds you use it would be appreciated if you find any more & note them in this thread. Thanks!
I've tested six games so far and found NONE with a legacy planet in the starter system, except for games using the same seed as the bug report (confirming that the bug is still there in 12.5). Here's the results: Seed: 253412 (temperate) - automatically suggested seed. NO legacy planet in starter system. Seed: 895217 (arid) - randomly generated seed. NO legacy planet in starter system. Seed: 154816 (arid) - same seed as bug report - checking to make sure it is reproducible. Legacy planet IS in starter system. Additionally, there is Zirax territory on the legacy planet, plus two drone bases, plus a Talon... restaurant? Yep, a restaurant. See screenshot below. I assume Zirax and everyone else are not allowed on Legacy planets. Seed: 154816 (temperate) - same seed, checking to see if changing starter planet has an effect. It does not. Legacy planet IS in starter system, and has the same Zirax POIs as mentioned above. Seed: 154817 (arid) - manually setting the seed by adding 1 to the bugged one - checking to see if it's effecting a range of seeds. It is not. NO legacy planet in starter system. Seed: 154815 (arid) - same as above, just subtracting 1. NO legacy planet in starter system. I did note that after starting a game with the bad seed, upon opening the system map in subsequent games (the last two tests), I still somehow had the Legacy planet selected, even though it was not present. I used the teleport command to go there to double check, but it returned an unknown playfield message. So that is just a separate bug most likely - when starting multiple games without closing Empyrion, not all information is getting dumped from the previous save. Screenshot relevant to #3 & #4: Let me know if you need me to run more tests, perhaps with specific seeds in mind.
@Pantera both the standard solar system config and the G2 solar system config are set to have a very low chance of having a Legacy planet. And unless the bug was fixed (I haven't tested lately), the starting solar system always uses the default solarsystemconfig.yaml file regardless of which star type it is set to in galaxyconfig.ecf.
Why would there be any chance at all? I was under the impression the Legacy playfield was the endgame planet, and that there was only ONE, as in the homeworld. Having multiple Legacy planets doesn't make much sense to me (granted, I haven't been in the keystone, so maybe there are supposed to be multiples...).
Why not have that playfield as a starter playfield? See how many seconds you survive? Fun part aside > Will be fixed in the next update. Legacy planets should never appear outside of the Legacy Territory. Was simply a setting not removed in the default solarsystemconfig.
You should label it MEGA HARD with a red/purple color scheme. I already struggle not to die on Arid! I NEED TO EAT PLASMA TOO!
I die mostly due to starvation and a lack of meds when I raid a POI lol. It's how I play and I know I need to improve. I wanna try and do an Iron Man playthrough eventually once I comprehensively understand and master the game mechanics.
Send me a friend request on Steam. Would be happy to do a co-op with you sometime, and exchange tips. Always good to play with someone new and see fresh ways of doing things.
