I've been using the SSG a lot in the last few months and figured it was an overlooked 'tool', a 'freebie' etc etc However.... now that the official release mentions the nice looking preview textures could someone please tell me why i don't get them ? I have long since failed to have my screen resolution in the selection box, 1366 x 768 is the largest: However this is a Temperate planet using 3D: And this is the best you get using the 'Tex' button: As you can see, it bares no resemblence to the temperate. So a) how can i get it to recognise my 1680x1050 (i'd be happier with 1280x1024 !) screen resolution and b) why is the Tex terrain image nothing like the generated planet ? tia
Thanks both, if that's how you two see it also then i guess that's correct. The statement does qualify (in brackets) that it's only 'stamps & textures' however i was expecting it to include colouring for water, forests & grassland (ie biomes) in a similar but more realistic way to the 3D view. Also does not answer my question regarding the selectable resolution in the opening screen.
It shows you the texture as it shows on the planet, but you're missing things like terrain deco such as trees and grass and the ambient lighting and fog effects of the planet. I'm not sure about the resolution.
