I made one for my self, but I thought I might as well share it. There's probably a lot of bugs I haven't encountered my self.

Works for the in game steam overlay browser, just open the url. Go play with it and see how much your vessels costs.

I've made several changes to it. I've tried to make it look more intuitive but I might have failed, so if you have any suggestions how to make it easier to use let me know

    Nice work!

It would be great if this were included in the game, like as a function of one of those decorative consoles, you could queue up stuff and see what it would cost compared to what all you have, and then you could send some or all of that job to the constructor.

    One tiny suggestion :S ...

As is now, some items, go under "other" ... such, as "Thruster Normal (HV)" .. where as "Thruster Directional (HV)", shows up under "Advanced components ?

I would have expected "other" to contain ammo and such :)

Congratulations for this great work !
Do you think it would be possible to specify on the hoxer.net page which version of the game is actually supported by your calculator.

    if you want
    thanks !

Not sure if this could be a function of your current system, or if new code would be needed, but is it possible to display how much of X object you can make with Y ore? For example, if I want to know how many hull blocks I can make with 500 Iron ore. I could probably put together a basic calculator for it myself, if need be.

An evolution of this system could not only show the base resources needed to produce an item, but also the steps taken along the way from cradle to grave: from raw/refined materials to finished product. Ideally this could be embedded into the GUI of the game and viewed when in the Constructor somehow.

There are multiple levels of "simple components" as listed in your calculator: I would list the Computer and Motor, for example, as something more advanced than a simple component but less advanced than an "advanced component". I would use the categories "Simple Component", "Complex Component", and "Advanced Component". This is because the Computer and Motor incorporate other simple components, namely metal components, cables, electronics, and control devices. This separates them from simple components. However, the Computer and Motor don't have any actual functionality - they are simply ingredients, if you will, and this separates them from the advanced components.

    Some nice work!

Would also be possible import blueprints into the calculator?

Thanks for your feedback. I'm not really fan of the text-list result thing right now. I'd prefer to see it a little more like we see in Empyrion today with just icons and numbers. I'm not sure I can just take the images and use them without breaking copyright.
I've been moving the items around a bit. I think I ended up with simple components and advanced components correspond to the tabs inside the constructor because that makes most sense when you need to find them after you've calculated the requirements and need to start producing them ingame.
Thanks :D It would probably take some time figuring out how to decompile the blueprint files and figure out. But I was something I wanted to include to begin with. My time have been a bit limited though.

Works great but when selecting all the items for my base I couldn't find 'Medic Station'.

Very cool man, thanks for sharing.
I agree that something like this could be a great use for one of those not yet functional consoles in the game.

    Great work!

Yeah some are missing I'll post some that I found soon.

But overall this is the best tool anybody could ask, providing all the information you might want. I use it to see if I have enough resources to start a project, I use it to see how much ores I need to bring for the next project. the devs should definitely add this to the
    game.
