Hi fellow Empyrions, Playing for a while and really impressed. Build my imaginary Event Horizon! Turned out it cant fly cause the place of the CV base module is wrong...using it now as a space base. Cheers, Roni
Hi, Welcome. I'm not sure I understand what you mean by CV Base module is in the wrong place... You can move your core at any time by recycling it with the R&R tool and placing a new one in a different spot. From your video, it seems like you may need to add thrusters that face in every direction ( right left up down, forward, back), and some RCS to make it fly the way you want it to.
Hello Jetze @Westworld His construction was a base rather than a CV. I don't think you can turn a base into a CV once placed. However some things are possible when you flip some save files around, maybe you can make a placeholder CV and copy the base files into it.
Thx for your replies. My CV built has thrusters in all directions. Turns out that you need to have the CV module somewhere in the middle of your vessel. In my case it's totally in front of a rather large one. RCE is there too. So flying straight forward isnt an issue. Turn issues are due to the fact that CV module is completely in front. It's like a small mass needs to drag a huge mass dragging it. It does turn but so slow it's almost unoticable. That's at least how I perceive it. I built a smaller CV vessel and kept the CV module centered. That vessel turns like it should just fine. Anyway, I love the building system. It's awesome to fly around with your own built vehicles or wonder around in your own base. Hope devs come up with something so I can take my helmet off in my base or spaceship like the cockpit modules. Regards,
Hmm not to sound rude or anything, but I disagree with both of you. @ hoxer, his video & reply mentions that the ship moves forward, so he did use CV starter. @Jetze Koole, I have never heard of the placement of the core affecting movement or steering. I still think it is a matter of not enough thrusters and rcs. The mass of your ship determines HOW MANY of each of these things u need. I have cv's with 50 or more rcs's to make it turn nicely, and 15 to 20 thrusters in each direction to make it move in a given direction and accelerate at a reasonable rate. Also once you move the core, the other 8 blocks from the starter just become standard blocks with no special properties. So you can still move it if you believe that the placement matters. Just my thoughts on the subject, just trying to help.
Thx for all the replies and suggestions. Im a bit trial and error gamer so I make mistakes or come to wrong conclusions. Thx Westworld, that was really helpful. Will try if it works with adding more thrusters. Maybe that will do the trick. Good thing I often make back-up save files (kuddos to dev team....thats a really a helpful feature). Hope those who watched the video enjoyed it. Regards,
No prob , I like to be able to help when I can. And I definitely agree that the backup feature is really helpful, I use it all the time. P.S. Yes I enjoyed your video
Not rude at all Hoxer. As this game is in pre-alpha and there might be some language barriers...misscommuincation easely happens. We figure it out. Let's focus on development and community building. Would be great to meet you on a Empyrion server one day, Regards,
You should be happy that your Event Horizon doesn't work probably. Otherwise your Character would turn crazy and doing weird things with his eyes...
