Just a quick question. Are Sentry guns hard coded to not be seen by any of your turrets? Some POIs have a ton of sentry guns on the outside that just shred my hvs shields.
Yes they were removed from being automatically targeted quite a few versions ago now. Your only option is manual targeting or using manual fire weapons. It was a weak attempt by the devs to stop our turrets from targeting internal turrets on POI's and "drilling" through the POI. Sadly it's probably going to stay like this until (if) a proper line of sight targeting gets implemented. It was a rather weak attempt, since some POI's still have full size internal turrets, which means it still happens.
Thank you for the reply Krazzy. That is somewhat disappointing but not surprising. Ive been playing Reforged Eden and some of the POIs are full of those sentry guns on the outside. Dont get me wrong, Im really enjoying the scenario. It is just sad watching my HV with 15 turrets get shredded because of those little guys.
in BlocksConfig.ecf (in the scenario folder \Content\Configuration) line 7757: Alien sentry gun { +Block Id: 565, Name: SentryGun01 ... TurretTargetIgnore: true setting this to false should work. and there are other variants of the sentry too, so maybe its another one.
