I feel really dumb asking this, but is the steam workshop the only way I can see other people's builds in-game? Like, I'd really like to see the ships in Vermillion's signature, for example. Is there someplace where builds are "curated" or something by author where I can snag 'em in game? If I look for spanj on the workshop I see *some* of his stuff but I can't find anything typing in Vermillion. Anyway, I'm new around these parts and don't quite know my way around yet..sorry.

Not everything people made is released to steam workshop, some builds are submitted to be added to the vanilla game others in the mods. You can go into creative mod and spawn builds in to look around. Also some people for e.g. j Randall do work shop reviews on YouTube of other people’s builds along with video updates of their wip
