Have you checked this in the control menu on the left side, under 'Power left'? You can see the power number increase/decrease in real time. I'm currently trying out a lot of objects in creative and they all have solar panels with a varying nr. of capacitators, but they all show that this power number increases as soon as I spawn them. But all these objects are made by expert players and set up correctly.

Apart from the need to have enough panels and capacitators installed, the power may not increase because it's drained to run generators and other active devices, you must check what is currently draining power in your systems. Only at idle operation (not much power drained) the capacitators will charge and the 'Power Left' will slowly increase, how much depends on the nr. of capacitators and panels you have. And also: Your sufficient nr. of solar panels must be directly orientated towards the sun.

You'd need to check all this and saying exactly where it fails.

This has been a thing for a while - capacitors switching themselves Off.
Haven't run into it in a bit, but have run into it prior.

It would actually be great if we could power off a capacitor, have that value deducted from the total power available, and keep that capacitor Off as a source of "emergency power".
