There usually is a PDA marker of where to dig, but I did not find one either at the monument or the talon village where I was doing the mission at. This occurs on the swamp starter planet, if that helps.
I did not do this mission yet...but does not most of the Talon Quest call for a "Temperate" Planet? Maybe wrong about this but I believe the Swamp Planet is not not taken into account for that...
Ok, got it. The rest of the talon story works in swamp starter (including specific things like alien tower) yet the prison isn't there... So it's a weird anomaly.
