Admittedly, Holden is kind of the worst for that. EDIT: I'll admit that a good part of the reason I'm watching it is to see the ships and the continually awesome treatment of gravity (and lack thereof). Also: Spoiler When I was first watching the Donnager engaging the unknown ships in S01E04, I was quite pleased with how the battle progressed. They started out slinging guided missiles at each other, shooting them down with PDCs, and then started in with railguns at close range (which is exactly what I predicted to the people I was watching with just before the order to start up the railguns was given).
I'm still not a big fan of season 3 Holden, personally. . . . but, anyway, you're right, overall everyone shows considerable improvement.
I believe it got canceled? Edit: I see it did but s4 got rescued by Amazon. Seems they keen to take it over
Do we know if that will go beyond the books? Are we looking at a late-season Game of Thrones situation here?
But will there be ratings? Netflix shows don't have ratings, so I don't think Amazon will. Maybe they do have star ratings for now (or do they promote Amy Schumer also?). I love the Expanse. We started watching right around the time we started playing Empyrion. I really love the show. Sure, it does not have HBO caliber acting, but I enjoyed the show much more once the detective guy, Miller, was gone. He was cringey, but I like the lady with the deepest voice in existence. At first I kept missing what she said because I was just amazed by her voice, but then I started paying attention to her lines and I like her character a lot. "You're right, we're not going to be friends."
LOL then a lot of shows would still be airing. Unfortunately ratings decides who stays and who goes Any media has ratings online these days.... Netflix etc has ratings internally to ensure they don't bore their audiences otherwise they won't make money
Yeah one of my buddies I used to play Empyrion with actually suggested this show last year, and I was pleasantly surprised. If you can get through the first 4 episodes in season 1, it gets really good especially in seasons 2 & 3. Although I'm not really a fan of Bezos, I'm glad he did save the Expanse. The fan base is pretty hilarious though, they rented a plane to fly a banner over Amazon HQ and got 130k signatures to renew the subsequent seasons within 2 days of Sci-Fi announcing they would cancel the next season: https://www.change.org/p/amazon-or-netflix-please-buy-the-rights-to-the-expanse-savetheexpanse http://www.ign.com/articles/2018/05/16/fans-of-the-expanse-rent-a-plane-to-fly-over-amazon-studios https://www.theverge.com/2018/5/26/17379736/the-expanse-amazon-prime-season-four-saved You can currently watch the first 2 seasons for free on Amazon Prime, not sure about the current season yet. Another Amazon Prime series I was really impressed with was Bosch...and I'm not really a big fan of cop dramas, but Titus Welliver is a bad ass in that show. Plus I can watch every genre of the older Star Trek series. Currently trying to finish up DS9 which I never really got into back in the day.
I love the power armour! I'd watch it for that alone. Yes Holdens acting is awful - worst character and actor by far for me.
