INFO & FEEDBACK v1.11.7 - New SharedData to Cloud Method

    Hello Galactic Survivalists,

    Since we see some issues with people getting it to work here is some documentation :)

    1. Go to your Server Root Installation/Content/Scenarios/<Scenario Name>

    2. Right Click on the SharedData Folder and "Sent To" > Compressed (zipped) folder
    This will create a Zip File, You can rename it to anything you feel like

    NOTE: We only support the zip format from Windows or 7zip.
    WinRAR is NOT Supported and will NOT work!


    3. Upload this zip file to either GoogleDrive, Dropbox or OneDrive (Personal)

    4. After its uploaded you create a Download URL by sharing this zip in your drive (Right click on the uploaded file and press "Share")
    make sure its a PUBLIC Link!

    5. When this is done, you go to your own dedicated.yaml that you use to start the server
    Beneath GameConfig > CustomScenario you add the "SharedDataURL: <LINK>"
    "SharedDataURL: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1xxxxxxxxxxK/view?usp=sharing"
    Replace the link with the link you created in step 4!

    6. Boot Server :NewSunglasses:


    For Co-op mode:
    - Right click on the SharedData folder in the custom scenario folder you wish to use & select to zip/compress the SharedData folder and upload the zip file to a cloud service such as “Google drive”, “Dropbox” or “OneDrive (Personal)”.
    For Workshop scenarios you can start by looking for them in your workshop downloads folder which is found here: SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\383120 (consider making a shortcut to them once you know which one is the correct folder)
    Keep an eye out for updates to the SharedData folder from the scenarios author & update the SharedData zip/compressed folder you uploaded & generate a new share link & update your dedicated.yaml.

    - Once the compressed copy is uploaded to your file host of choice enable sharing for the uploaded file & create a share link for it & copy the link.

    - Next in the Co-op setup menu where you will see a GUI element for “SharedDataURL” click on it & add the link you copied & paste it here then when ready start the co-op server & the link will get added to the dedicated.yaml that is automatically generated in the save game folder for the co-op game you have started.

    - For existing saves in Co-op mode that haven't made use of this you can open the save game folder then open the dedicated.yaml & create a new line after the last line & add the SharedDataURL: line with the link f.ex:
    SharedDataURL: <LinkGoesHere>

    !ATTENTION! Any time a custom scenarios SharedData folder is updated you should also upload a new version of it to your file host of choice & create a new share link which needs to be added to the dedicated.yaml replacing the previous link setup there.

    Adding the SharedDataURL line to dedicated_eah.yaml caused our server's EAH to display errors instead of allowing the Functions | Config | Server button to operate. See my report in the "Bugs" forum. EAH is also logging errors whenever it is started, but only if SharedDataURL is present. It seems EAH needs updating to understand this new configuration string.

    We have a update for EAH in the NEXT Game Update

    That will fix this

    Hello,

    is there a solution for singleplayer ? I'm stupidly hitting the 500 MB limit and Steam refuses to update my scenario. How else is this supposed to work with other large scenarios?

    I play singleplayer with a modified version of RE 2 in a separate folder that is not updated by Steam - Nevertheless, I had several new item icons and possibly in my Savegame and more which I did not notice although. I have not set up a SharedFolder how can that be ?

    This isnt a solution to go over the 500 mb upload limit. No scenario can go past that

    This is to download the data faster in MP when players connect to a server
