As I'm riding the bus each day I'm thinking about my next ship design. During lunch or on breaks ( sometimes not even on a break ) I am sketching out a new idea to build. This is great and all and I can build these ideas when in the game; but unfortunately access to the computer I have the game running on is not something I have all the time. What I am looking for is a program that will let me build a ship block by block in a rotatable 3d designer, and once complete - export the design to a blue print. The tool would be small enough to put on a flashdrive and run on a medium spec laptop. There does not have to be much too it. -An autocad style interface (top, front, side) with a rotatable 3d view. -A block/item tray for choosing pieces to place -Ease of use options such as copy, paste, import and export. More advanced features might include -Ghosting the model to easily highlight components like the thruster, core, RCS, etc. Blocks -Compute specs such as power requirments, mass, etc. I'm not a programmer so doing this myself would be unlikely, but as this is a tool/mod forum I am hoping someone can make it a project.
Look up 3d voxel block editor offline on google. This is just one of many that came up. http://www.minddesk.com/
I think he means something to upload it as a blueprint too. This would be a tool i would use too. an Offline Generator for Vessels, BA and many more.
