Scenario name: New Beginnings I tried it in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Empyrion - Galactic Survival\Content\Scenarios\New Beginnings\Content\Configuration Game doesn't see it unless it is in the default spot: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Empyrion - Galactic Survival\Content\Configuration What am I doing wrong? Doesn't see the TraderNPCConfig.ecf either. Thanks for any and all help
Afaik, config.ecf online applies to the game globally, and not scenarios. This might be outdated, but atleast it was this way.
The trader config should go under: Empyrion - Galactic Survival/Content/Scenarios/YourScenarioName/configuration. The config file I don't believe can be automatically included with a scenario yet.
Ok, here's my findings. It doesn't work, or it's broken. Tried the raderNPCConfig.ecf in Empyrion - Galactic Survival/Content/Scenarios/YourScenarioName/Configuration. Tried the raderNPCConfig.ecf in Empyrion - Galactic Survival/Content/Scenarios/YourScenarioName/Content/Configuration. I started a scenario game and I changed the starting welcome to Yo Dog. lol nothing, unless it's in the main place.
The config files can only be read from the Configuration folder: steamapps\common\Empyrion - Galactic Survival\Content\Configuration
Thank you that's exactly what I am finding in spite of looking at other peoples scenarios that have it buried inside of their scenarios, they must have changed something and never changed the scenarios.
I thought we could include custom traders in our scenario without requiring people to overwrite their default trader configuration file.
So, there's two config files. I'm fairly sure Pantera is referring to the "actual" config file (The one tweaking values) I *believe* the trader file can be placed in the scenarios
I tried testing it out and it didn't work for me, even though I am 90% certain I tested it previously and it did work. Might be my bad.
I assume by looking at the scenarios that came with the game that the config file for the Traders used to be able to be embedded in the scenario but when I tried it with mine it did not work so either something is broken or they have changed it. one way or the other the config files are Global now from what I can find.
That is unfortunate. I was planning on including a whole economy in my scenario but this will cause issues installing it for people who are less technically inclined and be a general pain for anyone using it single player.
ShieldCapacity: 6000, type: int, display: true ShieldRecharge: 100, type: int, display: true If one sets the recharge to 0 and the capacity to say 10k. Then the shield would not auto regenerate right ? Until it reaches 0 and hunts for pentax. Could make a tank shield from the config already it seems, at least for cv, a tier 1 shield could be a regenerating shield config and the t2 could be a non regenerating config using a huge HP . eg t1 35,000 regenerates at its usual rate t2 250,000 does not auto regenerate. In that case could we have a second sv shield so it would be possible to make 2 configs for both cv and sv ? 1 auto and 1 non auto regen
I know this thread is old but I wanted to update it in case anyone else came to the same wrong conclusion as I did. I changed the TraderNPCConfig and nothing happened. After you change the TraderNPCConfig.ecf it appears nothing has changed. That is correct. You have to open the console and type traders reload This reloads the traders file. Now it still looks like nothing has changed, right? Same things are on sale? What went wrong? Nothing. The POI must be reloaded. Go into the console and type di. This will pop up a box at the top of the screen giving you loads of info about anything you look at. It will also give you the id of the station or whatever you are on. Next look at the floor and make note of the ID, and while in the console type regenerate 15199 Where 15199 is the ID of the station. This refreshes the station and your TraderNPCConfig file works fine. Do this every time you make a change.
In the case of traders, they refresh their wares every 60 minutes. If you replace the TraderNPCConfig, they'll still have their old trades until they refresh. You can skip time in SP and they'll refresh with the new values without needing to refresh the entire POI.
