That's one of the aspects of the game that I still don't like very much (to put it mildly). Entering menus, containers, transferring items, all these sounds should be replaced imo. Other sounds, like shooting flying, are okay, but an update wouldn't hurt.
With Early Access, anything and everything is subject to change. So possibly they will update the sounds...
I expect most sound effects will get redone at some stage. Some enemies have no sounds at all while others have placeholders that are completely out of place (E.g. Zirax Ripper Dogs sound like spiders and Pangolins make no sounds at all).
Sorry for necromancing it, but the dismount sound is really ugly and by considering the amount of the hours spent on dismounting stuff, I think you should really work on it. Maybe something like more gentle sound, like melting or bending mentale would be better... I guess
The game really is in need of a sound and music update, but I don't know where on their roadmap it is.
I'm surprised there are no crunchaphobes in here... we usually hear from at least one. Me, I'm a crunchaphile, and a good nom-nom-nom is just one of those small touches that gets a smile and a nod, because let's face it, humans are just plain noisy creatures.
