    Okay, guys and lads,

please give me your opinion on my latest small (you know, the "other small") CV-Homebase for low cost/early survival.

    I'm presenting you

    "HOME ONE" (short HOME1)

A refitted Cargo/small Vessel delivery ship abandoned from some Mining corperation.

Default only used for in-system haulage, it can be equipped with an outside attached Warp drive or up to 10 Turret mounts, as this ship came already preinstalled with all necessary tech, wire and pipes.
    ;-)
It was a small but versatile workhorse - and now I've made it my workhouse haha ;-)

    Equipped with (Optionals in brackets):
    - Large constructor (can be replaced with Advanced of course) and Food Processor
    - Full O2 oxygenated (3 T1 Tanks) and air tight environment
    - O2 Generator (can be dismantled because you get one with one of the PackRats!)
    - Warp drive, Warp drive tank and Gravity Generator (all three to be removed/saved when landed/settled down for "business"(exploration))
    - Medic Station and some basic living stuff (bed, toilett, shower)
    - Repair station and Armor locker (that can be dismantled because you get some with one of the PackRats!)
    - 9 Growing plots already filled.
    - Docking points for SV_EscapePod and SV_SkyRocketSled
    - Upgradable with 2x SV_PackRats (that gives 4x Armor Locker small, O2 Generator, 3x Constructor small, 20(!) Fridges small and 28(!) Cargo boxes (big size)!)
    - Up to 10 Turrets!! (comes default only with 1 Minigun-Turret at the Cockpit)
    - Comes default only with Steel Hull to keep the Resources needed low.
    - 4 Thrusters each side and a RCS2 - this ship isn't a brick! - but it isn't meant for dogfighting either haha ;-)
    - Large T1 Power generator to give you enough power for all your needs

It comes default with Warp tech installed, but can be dismantled for planetary missions.
Two information panels showing the upgrade possibilities.

    This is the default configuration:

Now, after updating with additional blueprints and changes...

ah, the cockpit, nearly had forgotten that

only about 1500 Iron and only a few Sathium and the other stuff... ;-)

    What do you think?

Steam link(s) after some more polishing and incorporating your feedback...

    @rucky Yeah, very nice :)
Its a challange of special kind, to put everything you need into as little space as possible. Big is easy :)
I like your solution. Even if the storage thing has a slight tad of cheating ;) And while the bed makes for a nice ambience, i would prefer a shower against radiation - you never know. Then while the deco stuff in the cockpit looks nice, its utterly useles. I'd exchange it for Ox and Med-stations, what would make space in the cargo bay for things like ammo boxes, storage, tanks etc.
Keep up! I will for sure have a look at it when it comes out in the workshop.

Shower and Toilet are at the small gangway to the cockpit ;-) (just infront of the door, you could imagine them from the third pic in the spoiler)
and yes, adding Cargo-SV's is like cheating ;-)
but why are the CV-Boxes such big but have not more space in them?
It's like the SV/HV ones have a build-in-Shrinker of some kind...

I wanted the cockpit at least as a bit immersive, but you're right; if I'm going full maximizing, I should change that...

    Opps - oversaw that.

And, yes, i do it as well ;) My cheaters are exactly the size of two big blocks, with detachable cockpit and stackable.

Oh, well, the ship is "feature complete", sort of. So you can afford this little amenity, i think :)

:) Exactly as mine (there're two different, one above the other, with cockpit disassembled ;-)

This would be perfect in survival . I love the bridge layout. I bet in first person view it looks awesome.

@rucky Very nice, man. I'm thinking of foregoing an early BA in exchange for a mobil CV base in my next playthrugh. If you get a chance, could you post s stats pic of the default version so I can see the ore and lvl requirements? If low enough, I may have to subscribe.

    Thanx @all,

yes the bridge is the only room where you have space to turn around haha ;-)
and it's really immersive from a roleplay perspective...

    the ressources:
"with Warp tech already included" (perhaps I should do one without, that would mean less of the advanced ore...)

You can't get below level 10. And CV-Thrusters sadly need Sathium...

After trying any number of things, I've settled for the moment on building a dugout and using that as a Base until I gather enough resources to build and stock a CV. My attempts at bases tend to look like Soviet-era tractor factories so it isn't much of a loss.

What component(s) is making it lvl 10? No way to reduce that? (I'm at work so I can't chk myself)

Nothing wrong with stark, utilitarian Soviet-looking design. Hell, I'm in love with the STALKER games... in no small way for how the structures look.

The Minigun turret will make it lvl 10. I sometimes leave a vessel unarmed in the BP so that I can get it sooner. The increased mobility, protection and cargo capacity makes it worth running away from battle until I can get the thing gunned up. I'm playing with barebones micro SV's in this game with mostly positive results - once I learned how to pilot the skittish little beasts. You can have one in the air at lvl 7 for a pittance in resources.

Fuel tank T2, O2 Tank T2, Med Station, Warp Drive & Tank, Large Generator T1, Minigun Turret, RCS2, Fridge T2

All these are level 10. A few could be circumvent, but I don't think it would be a good idea...
Is level 10 too difficult to archive? (okay, I'm playing at the moment with faster xp so it wasn't a thing, as I could build it, I already was level 15...)
But yes, ofcourse, it is possible to reduce.

I usually start Omicron with normal lvlng, but I'll tell you, with all the orange and ZR1 groves and getting 100exp for every pick, that adds up pretty good. So no, that's not that difficult on normal.

I've got it down to level 7:

I've changed the T1 large Power gen into 3(!) small ones (still power only sufficient for Thrusters),
removed Warp tech, Gravity Gen and Med Center,
Changed T2 Fridges into T1 (but added 2 more with an additional Cargo box where these all stood),
and changed T2 Fuel tanks into T1 ones.
Also I had to change the RCS2 into the RCS1 one, so worse mobility (but it's a base, not much moving around normally).

So yes, basically this is possible.

Edit: interestingly not much less ressources needed...

Awesome dude! I'll be subscribing. When I do start a new game (might be a while, as I'm fully enmeshed in my current game) I'm just gonna have to find and de-core the crashed CV then rip the hardened plates for the sathium, then kill some golems for the neodinium. Can't wait.

Finished up the first half of the build changes. Did some cleanup and prep work on the other half of the station to get it ready and then I got a little sidetracked. I'd been experimenting with different window layouts and trying different things but nothing too crazy. Originally I was just going to straight up convert the top 4 cargo pods into guest quarters and call it a day but I wanted some garden/park space somewhere so I fit that into the wedge shaped space between two of the pods. I really like how that turned out. It really opened up the space so I decided to fill in a couple of the other wedges and turn what used to be four smaller guest quarters into two larger ones with a shared garden area. It will mean fewer luxury suites but more space for the ones that remain and it cuts down on windows and devices. Trying to be conservative at this point and not drive the size class any higher than it has to be.

What was there: Vertical spire with cargo pods
    [IMG]

And the new stuff: Vertical spire with bridged walkway to the casino, docking ports on the bottom, and the pie shaped thing up top is the luxury suites. Two suites, one arboretum between them, one empty pie wedge facing out to space for a nice view.

Not entirely happy with the bottom section. I may make some changes.

Amazing. I'm practically floored by the detail and the lines. And I gotta say, the bottom is fantastic ... might even be my favorite part. I wouldn't change it too much if I were you.
