    Thank you for the links!
Have downloaded them and tested in creative: WOW!
yes, docking of the HV is a little... fummelig ;) But this is due to the weird mechanics of the 3rd person camera - by itself its quite self-explanatory. And the mineral need is manageable. I think i take the set. Where to subscribe?

I am flattened. Thats a beautiful, stylish little beast you have there. Just for comparison - thats my solution (lvl 3):

    you're welcome!
(Steam link should have the sub button?)

(und ja, ist ein wenig fummelig, aber wie gesagt, wenn's mal dran ist, Thrusters aus und gut is ;-)

No plots because each grow plot takes up three blocks of space, one for the plot and then two empty spaces above it. It's more practical for me to start farming early, can the excess and pack the necessaries for farming in my CV. You can store 140 cans of food in a T1 fridge, or 420 cans in the space required for one plot.
Small is relative. I've sailed on older aircraft carriers that were considered small in relation to their newer sisters. They still seemed pretty big to me - except when you're landing on them. I wasn't a pilot, what I did occasionally necessitated going to and from the boat on a twin-engine COD (Carrier Onboard Delivery) aircraft or in the back seat of a two-seater jet. Good times.

Right. I've actually done that, and find the whole concept really cool. But what's the thinking on not allowing CV planetary mining? I still don't get that.

@68plex Just dividing different vessels 'area of expertise'. CV belongs to space, HV to planets. I think its good there's no one type of vessel that can do everything. I like that specialized vessels have a place on this game.

It seems counterintuitive to me. If you can reach the ore with a CV's mining turret then you should be able to mine regardless of where you are. Enabling planetary mining for CV's seems a bit unbalanced although I think that the cumbersomeness of mining with a CV combined with being exposed to drones, PV's, or possibly blundering into POI fire would largely balance any advantages.

    it would make things easier.
(on the other hand, I have my Mining-"CV" now, I don't know what you all are talking about ;-) haha ;-)

My CV is significantly larger than rucky's rig is, but the secondary bridge for the HV extends over the deposit and you can park the CV over it.
I have a switch in the hanger to turn off the thrusters and save power.

I guess with a HV drill and turret drill you don't need a CV to drill. I believe if you use a CV on planet they want to keep the CV as transportation on a planet only. Only a few CV weapons work on a planet anyway for right now but there is a post where Hummel talked about giving CVs, SVs , hvs and bases their own specialized weapons and maybe doing some balancing . So having a CV on a planet with it's weapons on would not be such a huge deal if bases have more powerful turrets and can go head to head with a CV and take it down.
Planets are about to get bigger down the road. So there will be plenty of room for CVs hanging out on planets if multiplayer admins choose to allow them on planet. I understand the concept of limiting a CV on planet but I am a HUGE fan of the whole Star Wars planet invasions style of battle where the Capital ships come planet side and provide support to the SVs and ground vehicles . Plus my CVs are my bases I take them everywhere.

So on the sub level of my space station I have it broken up into two halves with a big corridor running down the middle. This corridor is for baggage handling so I want to limit guest access as much as possible. There's a "street" running underneath the middle to connect the two city halves and avoid that corridor. Turns out I had enough room to put walkways over top of that corridor too....so I did. If you want to get to one side of the city from the other you can take the main thoroughfare or one of these connecting tunnels.

Around the perimeter of the city section is another big corridor. It can be used for moving cargo and other goods and it contains a number of bulkheads. Along the outer hull are more spaces that still need to be built out. Some of that space will be used for crew and engineering sections. The others will be turned into more city space and I've run more connecting corridors out to these.

I've also run duct work over top of the big corridors that can be accessed from the central elevator or from access points where they intersect the connecting corridors so you have these 'secret' tunnels you can use to get around.

It's getting to be quite the maze inside the station. :p

I haven't done much to decorate it yet. Still roughing in all the rooms.
    Currently working on: Movie theater

Edit: Also, I was messing around the graphic settings and turned shadows all the way off. It was like flipping a light switch. So bright now!

Sure, I see where you're coming from, but the HV already is specialized as the top tier miner... even if you were able to CV mine on planet. Use a CV when you just need a quick dollup of pro or mag, break out the specialist (HV) when you need materials for your new dreadnaught. For me, I don't like arbitrary rules.

Diggin' those fenders, man. Now just waiting for the devs to add the mud-flap blocks.... then they can truly call the game finished :)

If my crappy hv reminds you of something you made, i'll bet its a long while back ;)

I am not really fond of mining in orbit. The ore asteroids are spare and difficult to find. Usually i leave them alone.
Ruckys design intrugues me for its tiny size, that allows the CV to completely dive into its own hole. Makes for incomparable flexibility - at least planetside.
