Yep, found it, cleared it, now using an epic minigun and pistol thanks to it. The drone base proved more difficult to approach, but now the outer defences are down, I can get down into it. After that it will be the fortress nearby. I'll have to modify my CV so turrets are lower down first.
It is slightly annoying that auto aiming turrets aren't available for the SV. Has anyone tried landing a small HV on a large SV to use as an auto turret platform?
It's actually one of my favorites because you can completely AVOID combat too. With light armor and 2 jumpjet boosts you can navigate the whole facility though the air ducts all the way to the core.
I designed hvs specifically to be deployable/redeployable turrets but afaik you can't dock an hv on an sv.
Welcome to the forums, sadly, you cannot dock a HV on a SV. ... and I imagine that the AI on the turrets of the HV will be disabled when docked to a SV if they ever do enable it. It's what currently happens when a HV is docked to a BA or CV. You can fire them manually, but they will not fire on their own.
Made a Micro-PV... Ultra-Easy XS It has everything a CV needs except warp drive and tank. It has a tiny cockpit with O2 supply. Its even armed and could be refit with player weapons. It handles a little strange especally when landing, I got the feeling those landing gears don't really work. But as a PV its not going to land much anyway...
Hey all, Does anyone know if Pentaxid Asteroids exist in vanilla Single Player anywhere? I've flow to the Asteroid Field sector, thinking it's my best bet, but nothing. Oddly the description for this area is that of the Trading Outpost. I recall it was originally said that Pentaxid Asteroids were optional and could be added for custom playfields, but that was a while ago. So, just wondering if they'd been made part of a vanilla playfield yet @Dinkelsen - Nice. Scale it up and order of magnitude, armed accordingly, and that would be quite an intimidating design. As it is, I'm sure it'll make short work of the planets starter base lol Scoob.
Cool, thanks. Not been to that sector yet this game... I'll start crafting SV ammo Edit: currently wondering if Oscutune has any Pentaxid crystals at all...both the land and water have yielded none so far... I have enough for a jump to Zeyhines, maybe I'll get some there.... Scoob.
It's not about hard or easy. It's just immersion that you won't necessary land a 330m CV just to bring down a HV to mine a single deposit - seems wasteful I don't mind CV as a mobile base - but I would like to use all the vessel types to the fullest. Currently everything is too tied down to the CV's, it's hard to make anything work without it. I'm making small SV like CV's - but they're not good either because they can't dock onto a bigger CV. So you're caught between two (or more) CV's that you can't use together very well. Not that I would necessarily need all my different ships. It's just that I want to use all my different ships. HV to SV docking would bring entirely new aspect to the vessel dynamics There is distinctive difference between the vessel types - making them each stand out and making sure no single vessel type excels in everything. No turrets for SV's is probably the easiest to digest - CV has lots of turrets that only work in space for example. There are reasons to all the limitations though. They just aren't very subtle yet - or not very well balanced either. But most of them are necessary - for example I would hate if SV's got any kind of mining equipment or turrets - that would just take away from what HV's got to offer.
It is actually a really mini version of the Pharos Space Trading Station. I have enopugh large CVs, I wanted a tiny one. And it will make short work of... well... anything that doesn't shoot back.
I thought it looked somewhat familiar As for me, I arrived at the Alien Outpost sector just now, spied the Pentaxid Asteroid I'm after quite quickly, but it's well within range of the station (an satellites) weapons. Jumping in my tiny SV, I managed to kill the satellites quickly enough by hiding behind asteroids and popping out. Found out that you can take splash damage from shots hitting said asteroids if they hit the edge of it, rather than the opposite face. After a short fight, I've taken out a few of the main stations turrets too, but my little SV can't really take much punishment, and it's not that nimble either. With that in mind I just queued up a load of components for a new SV. This one will be heavier, better armed and a lot more nimble. I had an epic SV in one of my prior games, not pretty but very effective. However, it's long obsolete, so new build time. Call it a night at that point, but I'll continue tomorrow all going well. Scoob.
Well technically if you're talking immersion then you do have movies where they take a CV style vessel down to the planet for routine tasks . If you take Star Trek into the darkness , they take the Enterprise down to the planet and hide it in the ocean while Spock stop's a volcano from erupting. So I'm guessing immersion is a relative term in this case but I understand what you'r saying. Personally I believe SVs are only there to be fighters and small dropships that carry cargo and people not other vessels but that is just me. If the devs decide to make HV docking to SV a thing then they may not be able to stop there because there are those who want SVs to have warp drives. Now if we're going in that direction then each ship having certain roles may not work. I believe everyone should have the freedom to play the game the way they want but I do understand why a SV would not be viewed as a ship that you could dock to. Now if the SV got mining equipment like Space Engineers then I don't see it being a big deal because in SE people still use their ground vehicles . I would still use my HV for combat like I'm doing now. Plus CVs can mine as well and I still use my HV just as much.
Been building a new ship late-end game ship, based very heavily off "PV_Patrol-M-hard2" which is a really well built ship that I hope I never see coming after me in survival. So I been looking around the forums and can't seem to find who submitted the design originally, not sure if I'm going to publish but I always like to give credit where credit is due, anyone know? A lot of them have their name on them so they are easy to find in the workshop, but this one the only hull marking is the #102 Disregard. Wasn't that hard just searching CV and 102 on Steam. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=845592964&searchtext=102 She's the Macuahuitl
So many ships I wanna bring into my game! Might have to make this my mext one before the forced restart comes along... Thise Zirax mothership escorts won't stand a chance!
@Fractalite I couldn't let such a beautiful design languish on the ground when it was meant to fly! Yep, I turned it into an SV.
Ooh! Vary nice! Post that thing to the workshop! People will love you. Give it a slightly different name related to the original "fate" and indicate that is an SV. I look forward to subscribing to it. Its funny. I keep looking at my design and thinking, "I made that?" Huh.
Hey everyone, today in Empyrion I am seeking to promote an incredible conversion job by Siege Inc. Here is Destiny: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1117998092&searchtext= Give er a thumbs up!
