Decided to take a vacation in GAME. lol Built a little vacation home on Osctune . Hopefully my one cannon gun is enough to protect it. Nice little place to relax while I try to take over this planet.
Sweet ships! I have a library of 100's of ship designs that I sometimes peruse for inspiration, at least half of them are mentally marked as "don't even bother" for Empyrion building! I imagine Kieve has something similar, part of the fun is in attempting a box-o-frogs crazy design and ending up with something rather different, but equally mental! As for naming things, google translate is definitely your friend here
propably most of you already have some, but I haven't build big so much. but indeed space is dark, and in need of some flashlights! 550 hours power time. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1137375649 and, @Kaeser I'm trying to take on a bigger version of your Dohmhod ;-)
Well **** man, sorry if draping my vanity around gets tiresome. I will try to restrain myself. Thank you to everyone else for putting up with my ridiculousness. I will likely continue to fret about the impossibly high standards I set for myself. Awwwwww.... you went with the closed cockpit. Still, with the blocks vs physical space, what can ya do? Once you post it I might have to have a gander at the problem area. Sometimes it is easier to visualize in-game. I started that music thread a while back, maybe I should do the same thing with an "inspiration thread." It would likely be better coming from someone like yourself or Kieve - people who actually have some of these libraries, but if I get the time and the gumption, I think I might.
Not really sure if the engine design fits to the rest. I tried more traditional looking Nacelles, but it ended up looking just like a Starfleet ship...
Good heavens that is a monster! I am curious about the back end; are the nacelles going to dip below the ship?
Yes a little bit. As i said, i'm not so sure about it. Originally i planned to have a Engineering section below the Saucer, and more traditional looking Nacelles, but it looked too much like a Starfleet ship, lol. Yeah, the ship is going to be big. But i'm just building it for the fun of it, material costs are way to high for survival, lol. While it would be awesome if the game would one day have a puropse for such ships, i'm not waiting for that day.
Yeah it's a very practical concept, a moving shipyard that serves as a backup when taking out some bases but it could in fact use some more space and thrust for planets with a stronger gravity....
Your shipyard turns the CV-as-Base idea into Base-as-CV. That's a very useful concept that will become nearly essential in some form when EGS supports multiple solar systems.
I tested it with various loadouts and they all fired just fine? -I also tried flat 'shutter' doors instead of ramps, but those will block fire. Ramp shutters appear to be completely safe, at least in my tests.
ah okay, good news then. (that could be the reason, that from one point on ramps did go through other blocks and ground and could not be used as landing gear anymore...)
Alas, the Devs still seem to not get it that "Physical Bulk" IS a relevant balance point & they still seem to be under the delusion that Creations getting 110+ Blocks of Creation Space in all directions somehow makes Physical Bulk irrelevant in tactical consideration, somehow... *Facepalm* Meh, screw trying to be Sane. Sanity does stupid screwball things like prioritize "Looks" & "Theatrics" over actual functional performance. Craziness can sometimes actually provide Performance & Looks BOTH. I stopped Workshopping my stuff outright cause I got sick & tired of how much hassle it was to Screenie my Workshop Items. 0 Stars for me.
I went to a two-tiered system when I finally realized that any thruster will maintain speed and altitude. I group the main thrusters to a switch and let six of the smallest ones run as usual. Switch off for cruise and docking, switch on for running and gunning.
You're such a troll. So yes, this is what we've been working on today At the other end (and one side - mirrored) of the ship, we have one of two cockpits..... and maybe some other areas for people to mill around in other facts: Over 900 RCS, more interior space than some of our CV's, and currently somewhere in the region of 3.5Kt Yes. it's an SV
Two of the more interesting ships I have seen on the workshop lately: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1137255174 and http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1135888505 Both have a fascinating utility vs art ratio. I love it. That first one is bonkers.
Nice catches! I'm going to spawn the Alkurah-MK11 near one of the Trading Stations and leave it parked just because it would look so cool.
Wow I love the table and seats next to the window. Very niceeeeeeeeeee design. It looks soo clean. I know some of you guys must plan some of these ships out before you build them or you're just really that good.
