Medicinal plants like varon are so hard to find now. I had to make a job role for their collection...
@Siege Inc. Now I know what I'm doing tonight! Congrats on finishing her up! Today I added these to my LCV-1 starter CV. Hopefully they will absolve me of answering quite so many "IT WON'T TURN!!" comments
There is a great page here with symbols you can copy/paste into the displays. You can even copy/paste from one lcd display to another, which can be very handy. We had a good discussion on various LCD meta in this same thread a few weeks ago - it's worth looking up imho!
Today I found WAY more Meteorites than I expected...... 33 34 to be exact... 95% of them Iron... is this normal? Never depleted all the resources on a planet so I honestly don't know. *Is starting to worry this is an orbital bombardment... one missed his greenhouse by 12m while he was typing post.*
I am speechless. I've been exploring Nexus Station for the past hour and haven't yet scratched the surface. This thing is so big that it's actually giving me the willies. Heebie Jeebies. The Shivers. Remember the Douglas Adams joke I made about Size Class 148 being big? Really big? This thing feels bigger than the orbital playfield itself. And what's crazy about it - sooo crazy about it - is that it is a constructed and curated environment built by one person. And what's even crazier than that is that it's done well. Really well. I bow down to you Siege. This is THE gnarliest thing I've seen in this game, and maybe even the gnarliest thing I've seen in any game.
Cool beans! That means a lot to hear that. Knowing people are enjoying it is what makes all the time spent worth it.
"Huge" doesn't begin to cover it. The place is almost a match for the Typhon, something I wasn't sure was even possible. But what's more mindblowing is the attention to detail, inside and out. It's not just "big for the sake of big," it's a self-contained orbital city, a thriving spaceport right out of the best classic sci-fi. Surprisingly however, it didn't bring my system to its knees once I spawned it in. Just takes eons to load up, but it's really not too bad to walk around in. @Siege Inc. you are a true Master Builder, sir. I'd tip my hat to you, if I wore one.
Yesterday, after a few days of not being able to play, I decided to visit our Creative mode server to spawn the HV I modernized for the Workshop, and I needed some fun pictures of the vessel with @Friendly Timo There was a problem with the server that I couldn't fix on my own and I needed some customer service. It was another really bad experience and I decided to try a different hosting company. I migrated our game to the new server. Everything went smoothly and worked exactly like it should, with no BS. Finally we got back into the game and it was such a relief! A quick way to shake off stress is a game session in Empyrion. It was so great that we could pick up exactly where we left off. I drilled space for our new Workroom while Timo took care of mining the ore we needed to build our faction dropship SV. When he came back, he was invisible. It's always funny when this happens. Timo gave me the ore he gathered and a Repair Station for the Workroom. Then we headed out to raid the Settlement POI he discovered during his outing. We liberated the civilians by destroying the drone that guarded them, and the Troop Transport that attempted to stop us. Then I met a friendly alien who offered to sell to me. "Hello, my name is ComponentsBasic," he said. "Oh really? That's your name?" I questioned. "That's kind of sad. You deserve to have a real name." "A 'real name' is only given by the Zirax owners. My owner calls me ComponentsBasic. If I sell enough basic components, they said I could have a name then. Would you like to buy any of my components?" "I have to save my credits for Heavy Armour, but I'll kill the Zirax for you," I said. Then I caught up with Timo and we returned to base. As I flew through the clouds at the top of the mountain, I had to take a screenshot of the highest mountain I've flown over in the game so far. Today I am very happy for the way last evening went, and how much fun I had playing. Now we have all the resources to spawn the "Lite" version of our dropship, and it'll be ready to spawn when we play today. It doesn't have any homing rocket launchers because of the high resource cost, but we'll add them to the vessel when we have a lot of zascosium and erestrum.
@Kieve Now y'all can see why this thing took so damn long. I feel like there's more I could have done with it, especially with the LCD panels and lights but I needed to push this one out the door finally. Plus, I don't have the patience for setting up that many switches and lights. I can't tell you what a relief it is to wake up this morning and not have this thing hanging over my head.
That will probably be the same i will do with my HV. Setting up everything to the fines detail is to much of a hassle for a thing only very few people will ever be able to spawn or even willing to spend resources on. ;-) Although there is one thing i might want to try first......
I couldn't have said it better. The station is everything i have been looking for (or been trying to build myself and failed miserably). I LOVE the color scheme and the openness of the interiors. Just imagine some 100s NPCs living there and playing at the casino waiting for the arrival of their ship, while others are involved in trade and others are doing mainentance of the station. This is the direction the game should be taking in my opinion. This station should become standard for the game.
Man, my PC's guts will pop up to see who's the m**********r loading such a monster, cursing my birthday and every day after it...
Today i (sort of) finished the Engineering section and most of the outer hull. (I just noticed, the upper part needs some additional work) Engineering: Shuttle Bay turned out to be larger than i expected Bridge was from a previous version, i think it looks ok. I haven't even touched the habitat area... Astrophysics Lab: Haven't even touched Sickbay, 8 Crew/Officers Quarters, Captains Quarters, Library and Lounge. I initially wanted to have a Gym too, but i have no idea how to do that with the availlable items or CV/BA blocks. Does anyone know how to do some decent looking ASCII images? (like technical diagrams and stuff like that)
