I am running 7.2.2 dedicated server. The default planets and the added planets I have are fine but. I have added a couple of planets using the old akua/oscutune templates. The issue I am having is after atmo entry. a. the planet texture seen from space is fine and matches what should be on the ground b. when entering atmosphere at first a complete planet is visible but nothing like the terrain it should be, and as I descend the terrain begins to replace itself with the terrain it should be, in large blocks, eventually terrain is fine. If I relog on atmo entry the terrain is immediately fully loaded to how it should be. I wondered if this was due to the planet using a custom seed number while the servers overall seed number was different, could it be loading the server seed first and then my specific seed after i enter ? I have hashed out the seed line now in the dedicated.yaml today but the issue still persists, the planet looks like its swapping seeds live everytime I enter atmo. Anybody have an idea what I have done wrong here ? Having this issue with old akua and oscutune Omicron templates. Summary: On atmo entry a completely different planet seed layer appears to be shown until descending further.
As far as i know, this is still a known issue. Had this already some time ago. But never used fixed seeds again since then. It happens when entering a planet from orbit with a fixed seed. A reload of the savegame fixes it again. But to be safe, i suggest filing a bug report. /jmc
