Yes your right, it is really small. I worked the hole week on it and tryed some different sizes. The look of the most I just dont like. After all, I decided to buil the Hornet as a small hunter with the look I prefered . I allready work on an heavy fighter which should be much bigger than the Hornet but with a simular look
Greetings pilot, This is the Buster, fast and versatile multi-purpose armed ship, the Firefly 's little brother. Fully equipped with O2, constructor, fridge, storage. 3 x rail gun 4 x gatling gun mass : 12.5 T
I tried building the YSS-1000-Sabre Starfighter from Halo Reach. It was built solely as a fighter, so no oxygen tanks, constructors, or refrigerators, but those could be added easy enough. I already shared this in another post, but Ill share it here too with some new screen shots. The ship is tall enough to walk under. You access the fuel tanks inside the ship from the bottom hatch. As usual nothing explodey is exposed in flight.
In survival mode I found myself in need of a SV that was well suited to take out towers. I came up with this little strike fighter that has performed well for me. 2 Normal Thrusters 3 Directional Thrusters each direction 2 Pulse Lasers for Drones 1 RCS for better control 1 Rocket Launcher to remove turrets without collateral damage Heavy forward armor for tower siege 1 Fuel tank, O2 tank and Cargo
Just finished and tested this SV in survival mode: Handles extremely well Utilises: 1 x Generator 2 x RCS 3 x Energy Storage 1 x Oxygen Station 4 x O2 Tanks 6 x Rail Guns ( Awesome for Drones and Towers / Stations ) 2 x Passenger Seats
Shadow Fighter I thought a Battlecrab alone is not enough, so here is my try at the shadow fighter Reworked version on Steam-Workshop: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=667135479
This is My take on the SA -43 Hammerhead. Tried out in Survival. 2 x Generators 1 x RCS 2 x Fuel Cells 1 x Constructor 3 x Storage 1 x Fridge 1 x Oxygen Station 2 x Oxygen Tanks 3 x Rail Guns 4 x Rocket Pods A few new photos of updated
This one will take a bit of explaining, pardon the long post. First the reason: I needed some Erestrum Ore so naturally I visited Ningues. I found a deposit (size 12 if you can believe that). As usual I scanned the area and eliminated 6 drones, then proceeded to go start digging after making sure my ship was a safe distance away, so far nothing unusual (got cocky). As I'm just getting to the ore I hear an explosion, fearing for my ride home I head over to my parking spot. What I find is 4 more droids using my poor little repaired escape pod for target practice, bad drones picking on my precious like that. Here are the results. They even took out my storage box with extra supplies. Good thing I had installed 2 RCS units when I did the initial refit, just enough ship left to make it back home. Needless to say I was not a happy camper after seeing what had been done to my ride. Now for a solution: This will take a bit of explaining and a few pics. I wanted something I could park without having to run back every few minutes to check on, sometimes it takes longer than that to get back out of the hole I dug. I also wanted something that if it did get picked on too much there would still be enough left to repair or maybe fly home. This is what I came up with. First off I wanted all the essentials to have extra protection. Well here is the start, the core has 3 blocks under and over. When the frame is filled in (yes every spot filled with a hull block) it will have a minimum of 3 hull blocks in any direction of protection. I am also placing 4 generators and 8 RCS units in the same protected encasement. (some spots left open for picture to show what is where) Once filled in I think it will take several direct hits to take out my core/generator/RCS encasement (I can hope). Next, things that go bang, fuel tanks. After adding a extra wall of blocks to separate the sections I built a room for 9 fuel tanks with 3 block thick protection on both sides and top with 2 blocks of protection in the floor (I seem to get less damage there). I left some blocks out for the pictures so things could be seen. Lastly I added 2 doors just to keep any "Lucky Shots" away from my very explosive fuel tanks. After adding the other essentials and placing the O2 tanks on either side of the door to make it harder to hit I added 2 more doors (only one shown here) so it's very difficult for things that explode to get hit. There are 4 storage boxes to keep spare parts in as well everything needed to explore and process a new planet. (Finished in next post, needed to upload more images than allowed)
Babylon 5 - Starfury In my eyes one of the best Sci-Fi designs for space fighters. And this design is like it has been created especially for Empyrion The pack includes 3 fighters: 1. Sinclair's Starfury 2. Black Omega Starfury 3. unpainted one for your purposes (you can paint it with your team colors)
Now to finish it off. The side slopes serve a couple of purposes. Firstly to take the brunt of any damage protecting the rest of the ship. Secondly to provide a place to mount all the weapons your heart desires (or you can afford to manufacture) Thirdly to give as much shielding to weapons and thrusters as is possible. An added benefit is that the open area is just big enough to run through or hide in if I need to escape something. (I had hoped to be able to run up the sides to get away from the locals but without the jetpack it's not really workable) The big question is will this house fly? YES! it flies much better than expected. Well I did put 8 slant thrusters under the slant sides for lift and 8 armored ones under the back edges. With 4 more slant thrusters on each side and 6 in total for downward thrust and 3 forward facing, it mainly flies by brute strength alone. But it does fly. (space not tested yet) This is just the prototype. I wanted something simple to build (if you don't count the number of blocks) It only uses 2 kinds of hull blocks, square and slope, it may not be pretty but it was build to be damaged and still survive to fly again. The front is not really done, I left it this way until I do some weapons testing with it to see just what I want where (need to make sure I can hit the broad side of a barn with my house). I'm kind of thinking of rocket launchers under the side slopes away from me and anything else easily damaged (I hear they can explode if fired while flying). Then I can put more personal weapons around the cockpit for accuracy and add a bit of protection around the entire package. Call it being flexible for now. Yes it's a flying house, it even has a back porch. I wanted something I could jump up onto to get in and this is it, not a problem if it gets blown off either. As for the top, I still want to do some testing before I decide. My initial plan was to make a covered area with a second cockpit in case something happened to the lower (easy access) one. All in all a fun little project I expect to have loads of fun with. Best of all it's a very simple plan with only 2 types of hull blocks and 2 types of thrusters, very easy parts list to build and hopefully it will do what it's intended for, safely explore new places and kick some droid tail. Update: After doing some weapons testing I find that I have way more places to mount weapons than I can use on a ship. Hope that changes soon. Maybe just show 1 of each type of weapon with a stack counter would be an easy way to fix it as all of the same type fire regardless of which individual weapon is selected. Final weapons load out: 4 rocket launchers in the top two spots under the sides and 4 pulse lasers lower down with a rail gun centered under the cockpit. Works well and everything has at least minimal protection.
Looking good. I haven't tried the multiple cockpit setup yet so wondered if both work the same (interchangeable) or is one the master?
