The motherboard you only just got this week? January is a bad month for technology. I seem to recall @Neal posting about a fried drive too.
True, not DoA... I think the proper technical term for that situation is "Defunct". This was so Share Worthy... ^_^ For the Topic: I wanted to resume CV work today... but Dad ambushed me outta nowhere... dammit.
Ended up making a few changes I hope will work. Still need to test O2 flow and recheck structural integrity, so I may need to spawn this on the planet for a new SI check before getting too carried away doing texture work. Forcefields instead of doors. Was able to then shift the cafeteria to where there was a little better overhead space. By changing ventilator placement, able to shrink bedrooms and bathrooms some, freeing up some room for a couple small "entertainment rooms". Also added medical facility as I had forgotten to add O2 and medical stations. After I added lighting, the base bumped up to size class 3.
Where does one find magnesium these days? I wanna build some missiles that go boom - but magnesium seems to be nowhere... - - - - - - Made a little test flight with the 'Pack Rat'. Space Drones kept destroying my forcefields - but other than that it went nicely. Went to the Akua Moon and Trading Station. ... and got home just in time for the sunrise
"RMA" is what happens BECAUSE the Item was Defunct, DoA, or other such reason. Those are different things, not the same. Technical Details matter.
What did I do today? Well getting side tracked refitting other peoples creations! I really love the look of the TS-M-A-L-O, so I have been giving the ole' ZeroG shipyards a task to update it a bit. Going low tier items for this build, might be good for a mining or shuttle vessel of sorts. What do you think of it so far? Did I mention I love the exterior shape of this! Credit goes to the original creator of this, forgive me I cannot remember their name!
Simply chic Well, been busy.. Wanted a furnace in space the urgent way, this is how it ended: Spoiler Other than that, I tried myself at a hover. Wanted a small base with alot of comfort on small space, the red texture marks the spot of/for turrets Here's what I have so far (almost done though): Spoiler Spoiler
O.O Oh niiiice. I LOVED the MALO's exterior too... interior was eh, wasnt really my style and I never used it, but I kept getting inspired by the exterior's plated look so I kept it around. Your tweaks give it a sort of organic flow... this thing just looks ready to blaze through a firestorm like it's no problem. I would get WAY too cocky with that thing hehehe.
It's been ages since I played--exactly a month! That sucked, but I was finally able to enjoy a short session last night. (I think regular gameplay will now resume as scheduled ) I thought it would be fun to just pick up where I left off: I was doing a lot of wheeling & dealing to try to buy heavy armour for my factionmates for Christmas. So we went out to loot some Civilian POIs for gear we could sell. It was a beautiful stormy evening. I wasn't able to capture any shots with lightning strikes in them, but I was focussed on the scenery anyhow. After dropping by the Residences we've been to before our break, I suggested we continue due west and pay a visit to the Shuttle Hub there. We hadn't been there before, but it was very near to an Advanced Fortress and the Drone Base, so we could only approach it from one side. There were Drones in the area, and a couple of Troop Transports as well. The fortress was too close after all, so we went to take out its turrets first. An exciting firefight ensued. What's funny is that moments before this shot was taken, @rainyday asked, "Has Medusa been combat tested before?" LOL! Soon we discovered what was advanced about this particular fortress... It disguised itself as its attacker! I think it ended up looking pretty cool. We looted the Shuttle Hub, but couldn't raid the 'Medusa Fortress' because @Friendly Timo and I didn't have ammo for a raid! I spent the rest of my game session making a fiber garden--or as Guncotton as @rainyday called it--in our base. Timo made a larger garden in a new base near our faction HQ. I helped construct extra fiber seedlings and grow plots for the project. My next project will be to add more solar panels to our base, and we'll work on our faction CV (still no name for it).
That would be @Maloverci (workshop link). And I agree, the exterior is utterly gorgeous. I'd never thought of using slope walls that way until I saw it, and then I was just like: The rework looks fantastic, by the way. ...So, I've been trying to figure out how to accommodate growing plots in the NXT, and seem to have hit a wall. I need feedback. How many growing plots would you guys say are needed for a single-person CV? My experience in the past has been that 18 (two 3x3 spaces) was more than enough, but the last time I played a serious Survival game, fresh start, was shortly after 5.0 dropped. I have absolutely no idea if that's still valid, if you can get by with fewer, or if that's too few. About the only valid complaint I heard regarding the original Soleil designs was the complete lack of growing plots (/lack of room to place them, even), and I'd really like to correct that with the NXT, but as I progress further into the right wing region, free space is starting to become an issue and I'd rather not turn the entire starboard side into a greenhouse if I can help it...
This will probably be a relatively low answer. While I consider 9 plots a full complement which I am quite comfortable with, I often happily run with as few as 6 for my CVs. I just never build anything terribly large so I think the most I've ever put in a build is 12. But again, I may be a bit lower than the norm.
Any response helps. My goal right now is "as few as I can get away with," so if 6-9 is sustainable in the current build, so much the better.
I've been busy packing stuff so haven't had any time to do building, and my house internet went off 2 days ago. Much sadness. I then remembered my old EE mobile hotspot device, I was like Yes! This will do in the meantime. Of course I then found out I hadn't used it for long enough that the sim card had been cancelled. I looked outside at the rain and was upset that I'd have to walk into town in this weather to get them to sort it. And then I wondered.. Does my phone (Lumina) allow tethering. And Yes! It does!! So now I can at least pop online to keep up on this thread, watch workshop and even do some League wins of the day. 4 gigs isn't going to let me do much, but it's much better than a kick up the arse. And best of all it's effectively free as I have the phone anyway and barely scratch the data usually. 2 gigs for £5 with a rollover option [You could feed 1 person well with as few as 3 plots. But that does require some hunting to get meat to go with the tomatoes.]
@Kieve i have multie views, and uses for plots. Just like with everything, what is your goal? * Simply food self-sustaining?, i'd go by 6 plots per person on base/vehicle= for canned veggies * mobile Ammo-factory? 3xFibre, 3xCorn + Food above * base * : 9x* 9x* Also, almost more important... should the plots be.. .screw it, its just needed... or.. lovley i got that place for them? That also depends on the size you spend them... I mean... it can also look nice... though expensive and fragile nice look. But as a clear fact I share this: In the Duckverine, my moblie base, i have 2 fields of 3x3, beeing a backup to eachother.... and 2 fields of 1x14 plots,. This said, for future builds i will personaly go for like 3-4 fields of 9 plots and consider that 'large base approved'. And it is, for a single player. Anything additional is great for MP i'd say
