Go in your registry, there you will find all your bases and vessels, select this vessel and shut the power off. It should then fall to ground...
That is brilliant - I've been thinking about the same thing, but been waiting for the right build to implement it Nice job!
Was running low on munitions when I realized that most of my ammunition was no longer made with promethium. Now I need plant fibers? Suddenly I am needing a farm? Debated for only a moment of returning to Akua and the base I had there. It had a small farm under the landing pad. Then I thought I would rather pick a world out on the frontier of my survival game to setup something a little more suitable. Realized I needed some plant fibers to make my first growing plot. I had the seedlings for fiber plants, but no growing plot. Fortunately, the world I chose had good atmosphere, so I got lucky and found a village with some growing plots. I didn't even bother looting all the canisters in the village. I just stripped out the growing plots and took those back to my new base. Spawned my Nymph's Rest. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1139781576 There is a lot of space under the pad to do some customization. There was enough room to actually make two decent levels under there. As such, I have been doing some field modifications. Someone once said that even in the late game you don't need much storage space. I figured they must be playing a different game than I was, because my inventory was overflowing from my Turkey CV into the attached SVs and HVs. Sure, I only have two fiber plants to start with, as I had only two seedlings, but there is plenty of room to make a massive farm. As soon as those two mature and start producing, the farm should start growing exponentially. I have other seedlings, but I have plenty of food for the moment. I will get the fiber farm going first before worrying about a few rows of food too. I am only using 60% of the space under the pad so far. The last bit might include some refineries if I don't forget, and some garage space. Of course, I still need to clear dirt from most of the base proper. I was trying to get the farm going as soon as possible because those plants will take some time to mature, and also time after that to grow the farm out. Plenty of time during all that to finish up those details.
Out of curiosity I made a quick mock-up helmet view based on the geometry for each of the light, medium, and heavy helmets. Looks neat imo, but I would understand why many wouldn't care for it.
Some screenshots so far...but the backend of the CV will get a redesign to fit in the HV in a modular way like i did with the SV's all loaded Still not 100% done and will take planet side shots once done
After having finished my CV carrier expansion, I was browsing stuff on unity and I recalled, some time ago I had stumbled upon a Unity Asset that generates procedurally solar systems. I would really love something similar to be implemented for Empyrion so people can create scenarios on solar systems with ease. I wanted to try the playfield generator but I think it is kind of hard for now. It is a nice idea and much effort put on it, but I think it needs lots of improvements. Oh the asset is free and if someone wants to give it a try and has some coding experience, its only a matter of seconds to get it from here : StellarGen - A Procedural Planetary System Generator.
Well this last run ended fairly unceremoniously with the PV on the planet I found Erestrium on destroying my small CVs cockpit while I was mining; by the time I got back on board and was ready to escape it was already too late. I had to run out again to the miner and just about managed to dig a hole to hide in. I *could* attempt to recover, but frankly it'll probably be faster just to start up again. heh I'm used to multiplayer were finding any active AI or intact POI is a rarity... ^^
After my connection got fixed (kind of) I can finally finish the PVP CV guide. And then Eleon increases the ranges on all turrets which changes the way you have to build significantly. Will still get to it soon-ish. Here is a small preview of the CVs I'm preparing (warning: bunch of pictures): Spoiler: PVP CVs My oldest PVP ship got a paintjob and some minor changes/updates, still eats way too much fuel and turret placement isnt really great. Internal layout could also use some improvements. Survivability and agility are really exceptional though: This thing also came to life but the never ending stream of bugs will lead to a new version with less complicated signal logic. By now also proven in combat, works alot better than expected. Baits people into thinking it is just a PVE ship then dances around them and hits hard. Needs to face the enemy for the armor to work though: And if I just need a all around well armored transport that won't eat stacks of fusion cells like candy the Viper Armored Transport is my vessel of choice: My PVP SVs see alot more action and are still being improved with every major engagement: Spoiler: PVP SVs Gauntlet Mk. II, updated version of my first PVP SV, a bit too small nowadays but still works. These new Ospreys work well as damage support, not really frontline fighters though. They will make their way to the workshop at some point. Angry Bird Tank SV on a scouting run, half an hour later these bases were smoking piles of rubble. This specific SV was part of the losses aswell when Empyrion decided to crash while I was moving in to tank. Just as I reconnected the cockpit was shot out and flying through the air. Somehow I survived and was picked up by a faction mate to join the fight in a fresh Osprey. Did I say tank SV? Oh, yes! With excellent testimonials from our dear russian frenemies:
I wasn't in the mood to work on Olisar this morning, but I felt like building something, so I decided to make a new starter CV that would use minimal materials but would be fully featured and look cool. I also wanted to break out of the usual long skinny ship mold that I so often fall into. I'm pretty happy with how I did on both accounts. I'm calling it the Wraith - a big black flying wing needs a name like that, after all - and it's already up on the workshop: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1290267861 I'll definitely post the BP when I'm finished, maybe later today or tomorrow. I'll probably put it in the BA thread in the building forum. I'll be interested to see what you've got planned for it!
My gut says that if CV to CV docking where a real thing that you would create something really cool. I would try, but I don't believe I would get anywhere near this. On a completely different note... As for myself, this morning I started by posting another of my "collections". Once I post the fourth one, then I will post a "master" collection. Once I do that maybe the grand picture of what I have envisioned with these four collections will unfold. Or maybe it is all just in my head? Thanks! yes i am eagerly waiting for CV to CV...imagine the drop ship options carrying down HV's to a planet...
Spent most of the last day tending crops and H2O facilities. Some tinkering with an old GPHV schematic I found in the tertiary memory back-ups and some activity the GBATF would not be fond of, if they had a branch here, filled the in-between time. The Xirax have been keeping just about ALL of the promethium warm for me with some of their spiffy installations and I figured I'd relieve them of that responsibility. Since they just seem to Have to festoon their structures with the ever-rude Laser Cannon, and I don't have enough materials to afford making an assault sled to knock on front door with resultant loss of material that entails. I decided something more in line with my sapper tendencies would be called for. Time to Misbehave.
Fun fact: It's possible to have more then one Cockpit on a CV Build... & it's never a bad idea to have back up Cockpits in different parts of the Build to make it harder to lose all control of the CV. (My current CV Build has a Main Bridge & THREE Battle Bridges. ) In addition to that, it's never a bad idea to have one or more "Spare Parts Boxes" holding backups of important Devices, including but not limited to Cores, Cockpits, Thrusters, RCS, Generators, & Fuel Tanks.
I was about to complete the "Visit Orbital Trading Stations" quest by making a pass at the Masperon station. Slight hitch.....there is NO STATION! Unless, of course, they are using a Klingon cloaking device. Are they??
This week I have been working mostly offline for my server. Building maps, adding lore along with some other experimental ideas. So I was inspired to make a building the other night. I need to get my starting city built and laid out. Unfinished but just wanted to share what I have so far. What do you think?
