Yeah sorry guys it's still in moderation, it should appear later today or tomorrow. So many videos lately, taunting me. Watch me they say.. View my glorious motion.. *sad* 800mb to last me another fortnite. [Edit: Amusingly I believe the ship size class discussion thread I made exited moderation while I was typing this. ]
Poked at the NXT a bit more. @SirKnumskull was kind enough to help my tired brain sort through some Signal Logic questions, and now the hangar bay lights are on automatic (as well as a manual switch, for Just In Case). Still working through the right half of the ship, garden/kitchen being a headache and all, but she is ever-so-slowly coming together. Unfortunately, I'm starting to run pretty short of free space as well, which is liable to complicate things in the near future. Oh, and I added landing lights and headlights, for whatever that's worth. ...cannot wait to have this thing finished, and move on with my life. No wonder these hybrid builds are so rare, they are a colossal pain in the tail.
Keep your chin up and grin evil'ish, should help to bug them away! Just released my first approach of a cube-like-non-cubic CV, using space for its design... Spoiler Aso, I just completed my very first attempt of my very first CV from 2 months back when I had bought the game.... well slightly later when I was able to build a CV on my first SP game... It is also the first ship I even think of keeping it 'default colored': Spoiler And I still/want to upgrade the ERA-S Pace... it had like 40 views, not one subed, something was wrong with that build
very cool ship, and its not people its my health, without getting off topic ill end this convo with, ill be lucky if i live to my 50s with the way my health is deteriorating. getting back on topic, ill be working on my favorite star wars Legends ship when ever i can get out of this gloom and doom mood im having, heres what it looks like and sadly the only image i can use to work off
I think Thruster Burying is cheese. With that said I hear ya on it being hard to get enough Thrust into the HV/SV Surface Area. I had to work to deal with this on my Hover War Tank & in the end am STILL disappointed that I failed to be able to place at least one accessible Fuel Tank & instead the Fuel Tanks are exploiting the Auto-Magic Cheese. I still need to find out how well or not so well my Tank does in Combat, then this grievous fault is among the many things I wanna do better on next Hover War Tank Build. Also I think Ramps in front of Thrust even only during Ramp Extended is a real bad idea. Amen. It drives my OCD nuts how there's so few ways to stick Jet Thrusters onto things where it doesn't look like the Jet Thruster is auto-magic sitting on while looking slightly floating off the surface instead of looking actually attached. I think that Station is 'inspired' by the Planetary Shield Gateway in the movie "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story".
I've been thinking - I want to make a mid size hostile environment mining CV (yes, yet another mining CV) that would be something similar in idea with my (still very much WIP) 'Monarch' that is made of different sections tied together. Modular, if you will. @Fractalite has been busy tinkering with POI's (I'll let him share more if he so chooses) and his way of building got me thinking - could modular copy & paste arrangement of different sections and armour plates resemble a working CV in the end? For now, It's just a pile of rough parts. I will refine them and see what (and how many) of each I will use - and tie them together. How does it eventually look? I have no idea - but I love that I can try different parts and see if I like them.
just my thoughts... this isn't implemented in the moment isn't it? (f.e. you can't copy a selection from ONE blueprint onto ANOTHER, and that kind of possibility needs to be available to make such modular vessels. Besides you doing this with the "mergestructs" command (I thought this is only for BAs, but I could be wrong here)...)
Ahh, my bad. In that case it'd be cool if Blocks could go in front of Thrusters if they were not a shape that got in the actual way of the Thrust... but this might be too impossible to Code right so likely can't happen. *Wonders if the Devs will prove me wrong just to be Show Offs...*
It actually works quite well. I have a BP in my orbital CM game that's just an assemblage of pieces that I've tried out. When I have a feature I like- even if I don't wind up using it in whatever I'm doing ATM, I copy it there for future reference. The BP's name is "Greeble" You can. Actually, you can copy from SV to HV, SV to CV, whatever. You might wind up needing to use replaceblocks to tidy up, but you can at least get the shapes in
I was thinking in the line of @Brimstone - a BP with collection of parts that can be put together in different ways to make a ship. Sure, you have to make it once for the BP, but after that it's there to be used.
You can copy from one BP onto another? Here, it will likely take me two posts to do it, but I will show you what I have been doing:
k getting there finished the hull, THANK THE GODS FOR THIS SYMMETRY TOOL!!!! going to be changing weapons out in final version
Fractalite's BP Templating: So my thinking a bit ago was that we are getting larger planets, and this means that we should also increase the scale of the POI's we encounter in the "main game." - single and default multiplayer. The trickiest aspects to this is several fold; first, since I am designing POI's for people to raid, it is important to scale and keep scaled the difficulty despite building size. Second, the building increasing is size cannot increase in system resource drain - larger more unique buildings can be a little more demanding and there is a subjective quality to "how much is too much" in terms of frame rate drop, etc. The third, is since the factions and related material will slowly be rolling out(see: http://empyriongame.com/factions/ ) the buildings still have to be similar themes - same colors, textures, architecture, etc(although, there can be variations because Andromeda is a gigantic place.) Se here we have the Epsilon Comm Center MKI(known as just "Comm Center" in game on Akua) "cut" into pieces: You will see the two sides, the frontal garage, the rear, and the top all removed - removed via the selection tool. These are Epsilon build templates and I have been affectionately referring to this as "templating" and have been keeping a running log out and about in magic magic land as to my progress. I have created a whole bunch of new POI's for everyone to wade through and suffice to say @Hicks42 you will likely make a bit of coin on the side via the arms trade. I cannot show most of them as Hummel has a cage full of internet attack ninja Gremlins that he sends out through the fiber optic and cable lines in the event that someone violates the NDA, but I think I can get away with showing the one. So a few days ago, I had brainstorm; I needed to change gears after one of my builds failed spectacularly and it occurred to me, what if I were to stack the frontal section of the Comm center(from the comm center template) and then copy and paste it on top of each other, then copy and rotate the pieces in a ring. I can then "cut" off part of the trim work from the Commcenter side pieces and rotate them like so: This then yields, once you also flip them and position an additional four, this: should look very cool once everything is tidied up: And look at that. Eh? Eh? Pretty sweet. I then considered, "Now what the hell do I do on top?" So I loaded the Epsilon Spaceport(Just known as "spaceport" on Akua in the game at the moment" and used part of ITS template: That did not work so well.... but it does illustrate that you can highlight an area from one BP, click "copy", then click the "Remove selection," traverse to the desired BP, and once you enable the new selection you can then "paste." So I got to thinking... what if I used the "middle" aspect of the comm center side from the Epsilon Comm Center template: Continued in next post...
..... here. OOOOOoooooohhh, that kinda works! The next step was to work on the trim - part of the challenge here is the builder needs to put in the extra effort to connect all the pieces and smooth things out or else it looks like some **** "slapped together" and very clunky: Then A further vexation occurred; "What on earth to do with the center?!" Well.... in case it is not completely obvious by now, this is a MKI Hangar! Aaaannnndddd what do all decent hangars have? Lifts! So in I installed a sweet central lift system: And VOILA! After adding some internals that I will not show here because I want to give the Zirax a fair chance to shoot everyone in the face, here is the brand spanking new, Epsilon Hangar MKI So this is a solid illustration of how one can remove select pieces from a BP - a template or a template with a series of modules, copy from those pieces, and then form a whole new BP with while maintaining the original theme, keeping the size class down(although, in fairness, that is a somewhat un-related point,) and being fairly creative in the process.
Well, gosh! I'm still having trouble with 'replaceblocks' , but that's another thread. So, in the meantime, I decided to make something like a fire suppression system. The cool thing that I discovered (you guys probably knew this) was being able to insert the piping into the tank and cabinet! I never tried anything like this before. The tank & the control cabinet are BA bits. The dual pump assembly is a SV stripped of everything except core, generator & fuel tank. The only reason for this is to light it up yo look cool. It was just happenstance the intake pipe shown here, just cleared the inside the truss block. Couldn't have done that if I tried! It was just an idea that popped into my head. A little bit of something that does nothing but looks kind of neat. for me anyway.
