Why is it completely impossible to craft a miner core? I get that for multiplayer, it can cause problems. But I think it should be possible to craft them in single player, albeit at great resource cost.
How many cores are you looking to have? I don't have any objection to them being craftable in SP, it seems that I always end up with more of them than I'd ever want to deploy.
Ahh, now it makes sense. Miner cores as well as medium and heavy armor have been frequently mentioned as items that should be craftable. Hummel's mention of a suit constructor means that the crafting system is a ways from being finalized so there's a good chance that these things and others will become craftable at some point.
My first play through. I was doing ok. Had recovered 3 cores from a wreck but hadn't use them yet. Built a SV instead and flew into space - didnt add any O2 though. So my SV is in orbit, I'm suffocating and I can't remember the button to put my helmet on. Basically I died in orbit an lost all my cool stuff up their annd couldnt get it back for ages cos I ploughed all my resources into making the SV in the first place.
Maybe this is a bad idea but it just struck me... A block shape editor. A set of parameters dividing each block shape maybe 5 times on each axis and then a set of angles so each shape could be shaped a little more to fit in those unique spots that nothing naturally fits. Or more block shapes haha, I know that's something probably in the works.
Small change - would it not make sense to give the animal leading a pack / herd a more appropriate zoological term? At the moment is says "leader" which, in my mind implies there was some sort of election between the animals. Wouldn't something like "Bull" or "Alpha" be more appropriate?
I have a feedback I want to give: That is the overreliance on the advanced constructor. When it was introduced, it was just a constructor that was faster than any other, while being the only one, that can automatically craft materials. Now since every constructer has this perk, it's clear that it needed some other form of buff, but more and more templates are now exclusive to the advanced constructor that it sickens me. I can't even build a Fridge T2 now without having an advanced constructor, and that is super frustrating. This should be an endgame device, it even requires minerals that have a rarity level up to erestrum, yet it's needed for so much templates. If it wasn't for the blueprint method, I would've never gotten one without leaving the starter planet.
The advanced constructor used to require power coils, but it doesn't take Z/E anymore. You are supposed to warp with SV to mine neodymium and sathium now, which unlocks the advanced constructor and capital vessel components.
Whoopsie, my bad. Up to sathium / Neodymium in that case. Looks like I have to travel into different planets, protect myself against heat, fire, radiaton and aliens that want to kill me first, before I can finally get a bigger fridge ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Is there some reason that the corners of window frames do NOT accept color? What happened to the lights or emissive for metal texture p1,2,7? Why do 'cores' go to pieces when disassembled and other devices remain intact? Who put the Lam in the the "Lam-a-Lam-a-Ding-Dong"? Oh, yeah.....Good Morning.
While we're on the topic, I would love to see a deconstructor - basically how it sounds, a device that can deconstruct any item into it's constituent parts. So you could extract sathium and iron ingots from hardened steel plates, plastic and electronic components from switches, etc. Even being able to deconstruct stuff like electronic components and zascosium alloy into their consituents.
We have a de-constructor in the MT. What your talking about is a re-cycler. We have that in the 'factory', but it all goes to the making of BP templates. It would be great to be able to tap the stored resources of the factory for other uses.
My idea of recycling is something that will break down items to their "core" components. As an example, say I have a rifle that is no longer repairable. If it could be broken/melted down into the metals/plastics/whatever it was made from, those components could then be used to either construct a new rifle, or for something else, or even saved for future use. ETA: I'm not suggesting that all components used in construction should be "recycled". It would make more sense for some of the components (or portions of) to be lost in the recycling.
I'm sorry. I thought that was what I said. At present, you can open the 'Factory' window and recycle just about anything. It WILL break down everything to it's most basic materials. It will even spit out what the BP doesn't require, As I said, the kicker is the recycled material can only be used to fulfill BP templates. As I said, "It would be great to be able to tap (access, get hold of, make use of, extract and apply somewhere else) the stored resources of the factory for other uses." As far as loss in recycling, I believe there is. If not, I'm really sorry, but I'm sure someone is working on less efficient recycling as we speak.
