It'd be cool if someday we got 'Repair Weapons' for HVs, SVs, & CVs that acted like TF2 Medic/Overwatch Mercy's 'Heal Beam', except for Vehicle HPs... then there could be true 'Support Class Vessels' in-game.
Yup, I have that concept in mind with Empyrion Falcon that I'm rebuilding right now for A.8 - will make few 'inserts' for it ... but I'm still in problem with interior to squeeze everything inside, and having some non-logical non-O2 pockets
How does that work when they have a cockpit in the middle? Also that kind of interferes with the freight elevator up front and the Falcon's torpedo launcher.
Finished texturing the Ebon Hawk's interior. Hooray for insomnia I guess? A couple shots: Spoiler Communications room Bridge Garage bay complete with swoop bike(non-functional but it doubles as a second cockpit). Another shot of the main hold this time looking back towards the rear of the ship. Engine room Now I just have to finish texturing the exterior, add devices and avionics, lights, sensors, etc. Hrm...Looks like I may have the space to add a couple easter eggs. I'll probably go back over the textures again after I've had some sleep and mah brain is working better.
I like it even better! i agree it would be great to have a universal repair block. I could see it as part of a fleet, hanging to the rear, then rushing to repair ships damaged in battle like in Homeworld.
Static Defence craft - small hover vessel with stacks of guns. Limited manoeuvring though. My idea was to create a small vessel that could be moved into position and left in place to defend against incoming drones. Some other lovelies now available in me workshop to
Not done one of these for a while, but thought I'd share for a change I'm basically just killing time until 8.0 lands on the Experimental Branch - I suspect I'm not alone there lol. Anyway, on a whim I constructed one of my early blueprints - a very very basic HV, requiring just Level 3 to unlock. I tweaked it slightly to add the Landing Pads on the truss blocks left and right - it previously had pads on the sides, from it's original design. Anyway, here's a screenshot: I know it's simple, but I really liked this design Plus it handles really well and the in-line hover engines mean you can lean around corners like a bike. It doesn't make you turn any faster, but you look way cooler while you're turning. Obviously designed for relatively hospitable environments, as the cockpit is open. The good thing is, as it's an open cockpit, predators can detect you and give chase...you can then just gain some distance, pop out of the HV and line them up in your sights. Edit: I suck at taking screen shots lol. Scoob.
Two wheeling like a big dog...I agree Scoob sometime you just want to ride with the wind in your hair and bugs in your teeth And once again I built ANOTHER home for the marine inclined......lol
After that screenshot of my trying to repair a HV with the repair tug I decided to try a different configuration for the repair bay (with HV's in mind). Better or worse?
It doesn't look like a skeeter any more. I think I like the way the Skeeter looks better. Because it looks like a mosquito.
I know it is. Rhetorical questions. You didn't see the "cool" smiley, emoticon or whatever they're being called now? ETA: As in that is a cool idea.
