... relatively high in this community? I viewed the most liked users and took some samples from the "members online right now" list. Most seems 23 or older. I've seen many 30+. That's interesting.
The game has a reasonably slow pace of character development, nothing to easily boast among your friends. This kind of game appeals usually more to a more mature crowd.
42 myself... This, Ark, and Arma III are my main games... I love my survival games, but sometimes a person just needs to virtually shoot others on the head....
Well I threw the game at my 10 year old kid. It didn't quite catch him though. He didn't want to play it alone, so I bought him a copy. First thing he did was try to fly away from me in the escape pod. He managed to cross an ocean before he couldn't go any further.
i dont think you have to be old to prefer gameplay over pretty explosions or steam achievement badges. if anything i think the age makes this place more helpful, and more polite than other games i play.
A relative child at 28 here. Not completely surprised by the older player base but I am thankful for it. A lot of considered and well written posts. Good work team!
26 here. Kinda surprised it's an "older" crowd, but also not. It's not the easiest game in the world, so I imagine those of lesser maturity would be a little put off.
Wow, ouch. Thanks for that! 23+ is the new "old". Yeesh. ( ) But something you youngins should remember, most of us 30-50 year olds grew up with video games, and there was a big boom in the 80s. To me, it's only natural to continue to play them as we continue to "grow up" (in a strictly chronological sense, of course). Tell you what made me feel old was when Star Craft turned 15 a few years ago.
Being "easy" isn't what makes me want to play it. Ever try and get all the achievements in the original Lego Star Wars? Call that "easy", why doncha?
I personally like the fact that the crowd here seems to be mostly more mature players. I'm 46 myself, and I've been a gamer since I was a kid.
41 here. Played Space Invaders on one of those old tabletop units you used to get in bars and restaurants when I was 5 and I've been gaming ever since.
Why would age be a limitation to play games? Games are a part of societies since they exist, we’re just changing the games we play I still remember my granddad playing cards and domino with his buddies in the park, I used to play cards as well when me and my buddies had a lot more free time, now It’s just easier to find them online Sign of the times guys……
It's like the old saying: " You don't stop playing because you get old, you get old because you stop playing".
