    I wish this game had more support for things like subway systems.

    I'd really like it if my subway car didn't damage the tunnel every time it's used. An actual track or magnetic rail for it to run on might help with that. Maybe some prefab track pieces(especially for curves) and the ability to set it to run on a timer or call for it via logic circuits /switches.

    Experimenting with different track/subway car designs today.

    Edit: I think I've come up with a stable platform. Just need to design a train car for it and then see if I can spawn it into the tunnel.

    For alpha 8 i changed building location to the outpost of Akua Orbit. Don't wonder if you see unfinished builds drifting around it... :p
    The building, my wife and dog are the ones that hold me together the last weeks...

    On CV building i have to say, i wished we did have a block size in the middle between the small and the big blocks...
    It is hard to get detail on small CV's without getting to big in relation to the player model. For me at last...
    What you will see in the following pics is the beginning of an "Rocinante" frigate size CV i am building now. It will be design wise similiar to my last SV builds and should function as an entry level CV with max 4 turrets, 2-4 fixed guns, 4-6 sentry guns and ability to transport 2 smaller crafts (1 SV + 1 HV).
    Without Growingplots but with an constructor and warpdrive, a medic station will be preferable as are a few cargoboxes and fridges + food processor. The crew will be at a max of 5.

    Hey guys, don't really know how my designs can measure up with the wide range of designs that are already out there but I started to upload a few of mine to the Workshop.

    I started with some of my rather newer designs. A mobile base which I use to have a foothold on every planet that I visit often:

    It can be fully sealed including all windows, hangar doors and weapon ports.

    Just now, I also uploaded a Hovercraft designed for mining, which - after a few attempts of very bad-performing Hover-Miners - worked very good

    In the foreground is a small fighter, 2 mini-hover-bikes. A little in the distance there is a bigger transporter as well as 2 very similar multi-purpose vessels and the big thing in the background is still unfinished (a WIP for weeks or months now, that thing is just huge) but I'll post pictures of it as soon as it's finished :)

    Just some random thoughts of mine regarding a 'railway'.

    * It is a straight line, no RCS required
    * You use 3 big blocks - equals 12 small blocks -> 4 left, 4 empty center, 4 Right
    (granted it'll be PITA to place, but afterwards, no 'loose' parts…)
    * if you dont want to build 'that close', i think the MAGLEV has 'underneath - 'grabbers'', you know.. like the brackets ('['), to stay on track.
    * one could use those 22.5° angled slopes on top, to 'connect/cover' to the big blocks - and use them as 'entrance path' to the subway as well

    hope my 2 cents help

    Siege's Cyclon Basestar is slightly too wide - by about 6 blocks per side…
    Sadly, my SEA Duckverine as well… by a few more blocks :p

    I think i need to make the MAUL a bit wider...
    At least then it would start to make sense to place a grav-gen in the 'Center row'.. (no grav in the middle atm - too narrow or too much overlap)….

    And here's something… i quiet like the look general - while thinking of redesigin it alltogether again, but something is missing (some computer -deco blocks aside), and/but I cannot put my finger on it....
    Any thought on this please?

    By imagination if it looks/feels right and number of seats...:p
    I don't know if the devs plan to create other functions for crew members. For now we have 2-3 i know off, the mandatory pilot and the rest of the crew can play gunner or outlook (in 3rd person view).

    On your big bad MAUL:
    No puishment intended but my first thought was... "OMG what is that, a base maybe?!", Nice!:D
    I wonder how much prometium is burned to bring it to space?
    For the rooms i think you could try to sectionise them, a bit. Only to give it the feel of sections/separate rooms or by using a few pillars.
    Only my 2 cents of thought. Otherwise looking good!

    The monorail car is turning out pretty decent. Rides down the track nice and smooth. There's just one problem. Well two problems really.

    It won't spawn inside the tunnel and we can't spawn HVs in a space environment anyways. :oops:

    If it only used fwd and aft thrusters and no RCS, an SV might work in space. Place [RCS,U/D, R/L] in an easy-to-remove spot in the BP to position it, then take them off.. Breach the station hull to get it into place.

    Not much in game today. Cleaned out some autominers, set up cannon pods at our fwd bases, helped a friend set up some signal logic. Then spent a few hours in creative mode. It's coming along...

    this looks awesome, i still have my cv elevators that ride up to a base on a track, would a cv shuttle not be better for this ?
    or does the extra space granted by little vehicle blocks help to prevent snagging.
    My elevator rarely snags on its up and down route.

    There's no room for a vehicle made of large blocks. I'd have scale the tunnel up even larger and I don't want to do that.

    taking a weekend off empyrion for my health to get little better my ra is flaming but good news laser surgery fixed my eyes and HOLY i can see better now lol, missed playing Nick Furry but im all good no more eye patch.


    emp related news:

    the AEGIS dreadnought is almost done, ill be starting on the ark ship mentioned in my origin stories soon, the game role for the ship will be a mobile station for living and grinding but strictly pve so i can sexy it up, and ill also be making a AEGIS frigate to replace the security frigate thats now outdated.
