I copied the default "snow" type planet files in creative scenario, it worked great. Planet size changes also work, but when I removed one type of weather in playfield.yaml file using the editor, game crashed with internal error. Also looks like playfield reload doesn't work in game for me, playfields reloads, but it doesn't change unless I restart the game.
Tried to change and remove weather/effects. Worked as expected for me. Could you please upload the zipped playfield folder here. Then I can check it out. Regarding the playfield reload. 1. Did you edit the correct file. After you started a game, you need to edit the yaml stored in Saves/Games/YourGameName/Templates/PlayfieldName, not the one in Content/Playfields anymore. 2. Not everything get's reloaded/updated. Only terrain/deco can be changed live. All the other stuff like creatures, POIs, resources won't update until you start a fresh game. When you already see the world starting to rebuild in game after clicking reload in EPD, the command worked. Everything else is done by the game. So works as expected. If still nothing get's updated (deco, terrain), then this might be a game bug. /jmc
Thanks a lot for your reply, I didn't know I had to use saved playfield in playfields folder and was using scenarios/name/playfield instead. Didn't get any errors this time, everything works great. UPD: After temperature changes getting errors again.
Planet size 1? when there is only 2,3,4 and 5 SizeRange: [2,3,4,5] # size classes of planet Ive changed ur planet size to 2 and i get no errors on entering the planet
can i Import Biomes from other planets to akua with this tool? dont know how, i tried before manualy with .yaml files but i didnt get work
Yes that's possible. You need to start EPD two times. In one you open the source playfield, in the other the destination playfield. * In the source EPD you select the biome(s) (you can select multiple by Ctrl-Clicking or Shift-Clicking), you want to copy. * Hit Ctrl+C to copy the biomes * in the destination EPD, select any biome in the list (You need to select a biome first, so that EPD knows, that you want to insert into that list) * Hit Ctrl+V. * The biome(s) got added to the end of the list. Hope this helps. /jmc
if i tried to Import a lavalake, there is no lavalake on target playfield ingame, but its not a tool Problem i was editing the templates playfield.yaml in savegame, this is correct?
Could be a couple of reasons. * Did the tool copy the biome? Is it now listed correctly in the yaml? * Are you working with the playfield.yaml or on the playfield_dynamic/playfield_static files? Meaning that: Do you want to change a random playfield in the default single player scenario or are you working in your own (fixed) scenario? * biomes are still dependent on the selection criteria in the biome's setup. If the selection criteria in the destination playfield can't be met, the biome does not show up in game. E.g. If the biome is set-up to spawn in areas where temperature is > 50°, and your playfield temps are set-up to only have temps up to 30°, this biome won't show up in game. So you need to change the selection criteria of that biome to make it work. /jmc
yeah the tool added the biome correctly im working with the playfields.yaml in savegame / templates and i deleted before savgame / playfields planet files I thought a biome would be a self-contained areal with certain conditions, that would be the most sensible
I mean, if on the earth at one point it is 30 degrees warm, it does not mean that warmer or colder areas do not exist on earth, or? xD
You can zip your playfield folder and upload it here. Then I'll check it out, if I can find the reason. /jmc
Aitis, Akua? Are you working with pre Alpha 8 playfields? Nowadays they are just called TemperateStarter and Lava. But I tested it with TemperateStarter and Lava and I can see some problems. * Lavalake uses the same selection criteria as ShallowWater (Height < Sealevel) maybe try adding a second selection Criteria e.g. Temperature > 40 or +Lat < 0.50 to the list (only in lower half of playfield above equator). Or make your Biome not dependent on SeaLevel but on Height. E.g. Height >50 & Height < 70 * The textures in TemperateStarter are not set-up to have any lava textures. You would need to replace one texture of TemperateStarter with a lava texture. Otherwise there won't be any lava in your biome, but texture 0 from TemperateStarter , which is no lava. Texture Setup TemperateStarter: You can see, that texture 0 on TemperateStarter is Grass and in Lava Playfield it's RockLava. But as soon as you replace a texture on TemperateStarter, you will also replace all the textures in all the biomes that use texture 0 (Grass). Not too easy to accomplish, especially with the TemperateStarter playfield, as it's already using all possible texture slots (0-11). The rest is reserved for resources. /jmc
im editing the savegame files after creating a new game, at savegame / templates there are the real names of planets
Can this be used to add more ore type to the default random starter planets yaml located in the content/playfields/TemperateStarter folder? I am trying to find a way to add more ore types to a single player random game
