Well... the mirror link comes up 404, and the .ZIP is rejected as being viral.

Hopefully a false positive, but I'll have to wait or pass on this for now.

Figured as much, but better safe than compromised. Thanks for the quick recompile, no issues downloading. Now to try to figure out how this works! ;-)

So the download works, but Windows is still convinced this is viral and will not allow it to be run.

    Just an fyi
I run Wondows 8.1 and Windows defender will not allow your program to stay on my pc
Whilst i appreciate this is most likely a false positive, i have to heed the warnings:

Same problem here. Really would like to use this, but kind of hard when the OS keeps killing it.

Exclude the files from scan in the AV settings folks.

Excluding the files from the AV scan would certainly allow the use of the files (it's Windows Defender not an AV scanner in the traditional sense) however imo you'd have to be a little bit irresponsible to ignore the warnings.

It's entirely possible (and i'm sure it's the case) that the file is completely safe, it is however a risk i'm not willing to take.

The warnings are falls. Its due to the fact the the program code is hidden. Windows Devender doesnt like that.

Neither there is much that can be done about it. It has been tried already with different code hiddeing tools. Results all in the same. Not hiddeing the code isnt an option

Iam running personaly those programms since day one. And i can assure u there is nothing wrong with them

Well with the greatest respect to you guys, i am totally inclined to agree. I am sure it is just a false positive but...

Isn't this how malicious programs manage to propagate ?

    Hypothesis:
Person A is a trustworthy person who gives assurances and person B who has known and trusted person A gives further reassurances.
Following those reassurances a 'community' takes that trust and perpetuates the 'program'.
A malicious program that has been coded specifically to lie dormant gains a presence woldwide until some 'trigger point' is reached (such as a date or a specific occurance) where-upon it activates it's 'payload'.
Now everyone panics in wonderment "how could this have happened ?".

If the risk noted was minor maybe it would be worth the risk, however this is denoted "Severe Risk", i for one will not take that risk.

Any program where the code is a secret. no matter if its an official app like Adobe or this would be flagged to a AV
The difference is Adobe pays them to get it unflagged in there system. So when your AV downloads the updated files
it in those files already set as "dont flag it". Not something were going to do

U either trust it or u dont. If u choice to not trust it thats up to u

As i said not hidding the code isnt an option since this are projects where ppl work hard for
spend allot of time in. Personal time

No one would like it if some other guy comes around and just steals your code

When I'm back I will check if we can change something regarding the EPG tool. Its not much to hide anymore anyhow. Just have to check with the devs first.

The Empyrion Devs have access to the code, so there is no "hidden" code. If you trust Empyrion then you can trust EPG.

But I understand your concerns and honestly.... I would also not use any software that gets flagged, especially if I don't know much about those flags. But regarding these flags with EPG, Avira and Windows defender tell you that its just because of "hidden code", which is the same with every game you buy. Only that they have the means to buy a certificated code hider ;) which does not get flagged.

It may be that you could simply copyright your work... Then whatever fears you have of someone stealing your code becomes mitigated. I don't find the reason you're hiding code because of theft to be a very convincing argument. Moreover, is there anything truly proprietary that you have in EPG that somehow is a trade secret? Or is it Empryion's code you're protecting? Just curious.
