Left "Home" to settle on the next Planet with the small but powerful CV of @CrazyZ , loaded with 10.6kt of Stuff. The A in its name means a small redesign, now able to use 2 Laser Drills and house a 87.5k CC Harvest Container.
Right. A day spent futzing around gets you...one city block. Apparently. Top view: Clockwise, from upper-left: Trade and Exchange Tower, Cornetto Gallery, Condos, Government Center, Steadman Tower, HVAC building for the tower, Parking Garage, and the Banner Building. Spoiler: Click here for street-level pictures. A few interesting alleyways and behind-the-building locations, loading dock, etc. Very low poly, only the 'first' floors have actual windows, for stores and such. Everything else is blocks, with mostly flat and non-emission textures. Most of the buildings on this block are human-styled, and all are hollow shells, again save for the first floors. Fake stairs and elevators abound! Still need to install the interiors of the buildings, and various people/alien blocks and spawners to give it life. Maybe a couple of accent lighting here and there. However, the goal is to keep this Cityscape low-impact, so as few windows and lights as I can. Enjoy! --B. PS: Yes, if I added random ammo and low-level crates, this would be a hilarious firefight map.
As my Small Home seems to leak O² somewhere I opened a Creative game and covered the whole bottom with CF Blocks. Somehow the Air found its way through a Force Field, the Core and the WiFi... loosing 10% O² every day. But finally solved and airtight now. I also took the opportunity to check on the Palatin. As it was game and location built, on top of a hill, it would not be suitable to place it anywhere else. Therefore I used the CUT Function, removed lots of Concrete Blocks and filled the gaps with CF-Blocks...instead of the former 2k blocks the Base needs now almost 12k!. A bit texturing, changes or completing, on the Embassy was done too
I like your ship. A lot of ships in popular SCI FI movies aren't attractive at first but in the end they become Iconic. As a kid the first time I saw the Enterprise-D on Star Trek I didn't know what the heck that thing was but now it's a thing of beauty to me and of course it is ICONIC.
Black and red is such a great color scheme. I never get tired of seeing it on ships. The Lurker looks amazing, it reminds me of the Cylon raider ships in BSG.
Was playing around a bit, once again…. Spoiler: random images Was playing around with some hovers, attempting a minimal design... *cough cough* Creativly I named them HV1 and HV2... Also I came by some POI with an interesting Floor.... (changemode issue) And for sure I had to work a bit on Mirai, an Hours work for the Lights, one doesnt see the 'work' though…. Oh, and I released a starter CV, MV capable of course https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1706390044
You know, it is always a bit of a challenge to imagine how Roman Buildings would have evolved into the 27th Century of their existence. There are some Artists on DeviantArt who took up the Challenge who gave me some inspiration. Also the drawings of Old Rome, how it must have looked like on the Basis of this marvelous Model in Italy of Rome. Last but not least there are a few surviving bits and bobs from a never done MMO called "Imperator Online" about the Roman Republic in the at 2400 AD as well as the Alternate History Series Procurator by Kirk Mitchell, about Rome and it troubles around 1990 AD. Here a few inspirational Pictures: The Palatin Imperator Online Germanicus/Procurator Pictures from different Artists about a futuristic Rome
Nope, still within 7500CPU -> In addition I changed the normal door to the sleeping quarters against a Airtight Door and removed the Equipment to fit in the Laser Drill AND keep all Airtight. including two new wall sections instead of equipment.
There's also a book by Claudia Christian (actress who played Susan Ivanova on Babylon 5) that I immediately thought of when I saw you mentioning a space faring Roman Empire! Haven't read the book but the idea of a galactic spanning Roman empire is really interesting!
The "Procurator Series" or "Germanicus Series" is one I remember fondly, especially the cover art for it that you've included in your post (that one with the tank like vehicles about the size of a German WWII Maus). That series goes back to the 1980s as I remember still being a kid when I first read it. Still have the books in my library somewhere (1000s of non-fiction, fiction, and reference books so it would be a project to find these titles). Another franchise that uses a future "Roman Empire" motif was the Renegade Legion. Its not really as much a what if the Western Roman Empire survived but a future where a society consciously patterned itself on an idealization of the Roman Empire that became heavily totalitarian, suffered a rebellion among some of its legions as a result, and now a war rages between the Roman Empire (Terran Overlord Government) and the Commonwealth which harbors the rebels who now fight to defend it. Primarily a tabletop space combat game similar to FASA Star Trek, it also had a set of RPG rules, computer games, and novels that extensively fleshed out its universe.
Ubuntu 18.10 with Steam/Proton and all latest versions nVidia 418 GPU drivers and dotnet 4.0 with winetricks/protontricks give excellent performance. Wish I could assign my zoom/thumb button of ligitech performance MX to use key somehow like I have done in Windows.
What Limitation? https://empyriononline.com/threads/...-modular-containers.46783/page-14#post-287685 A Limitation that is to be raised, changed and modified alot by the devs, hopefully for the next Alpha aleady. Easiest way to stay within CPU Limit: * use as few thrusters as possible = no (at least only hard possible) M/V (aka: Dont use thrusters for style, only for Performance!) * use as few RCS/Tanks as possible = only short distance and wrist pain * dont use Cargo (CC/CE), do everything by Hand and Player inventory I for one, dont care how good a/the ship looks if it has any of these 3 flaws -> starter and throw-away Vesels are the exception. Dont get me wrong, I'd like to adapt the CPU value, but sure not in it's current state. Since it is NOT possible to build a 'somewhat' usable CV (for my taste) within CPU Limits, i'll ignore it until it gets adjusted & real.
