I found one of these on my Starter planet and then I found another one. Is this normal? I have never found two of the same part before on the same planet. Not complaining, just seemed odd.
I think it depends on planet size as well as just luck. On a very large planet I have found several them along with multiple of the other capital wreck parts as well; capital ship, titan etc. Of course crawling all over a massive planet tends to give you the urge to get off the damn thing (travel fatigue), so they may have been more that I never found. If they were the same part and close together, then maybe something was wrong. When I have found the same part, it has usually been very spaced apart with the other parts also being near the respective other bits of the ship.
I thought they were great looking myself. Then I discovered there was not any grow plots in them. So I left them alone until I just needed parts. But they sure do look like the ship really did breakup. Love how parts of the wreckage is spread all over the place.
Can do the command "ents -all" to get a list of all POIs (and close critters and NCPs) for a playfield/planet.
That's true but what's the fun in knowing whats there before you find it? One game I scoured the starter planet and discovered the role of the dice didn't leave me with enough wreaks to make a CV to get off the planet with one. So I had to head to the moon in my sv to find what I was looking for. I must have had every abandoned poi's there was and multiple times on the planet. All the wrecks were without thrusters. Just the role of the dice for that planet. Main point is I didn't know what was ahead of me and I played the game with the cards I was dealt. Just because you can see what is there doesn't mean you have to. Now if your making your own game and testing your ideas out. Go for it! ents is a very useful tool. Just my own personal view on game play
I just told about an option, not how to play this game. The use of commands or other "tricks" or adjustments is up to each and everyone. Can run it after have done a planet or play through (new game same seed?), to see if missed something, or whatever.
The actual number of such "crashed Vessels" is purely random and their numbers have also something to do with the Size of the Planet. Also it is a Vanilla Version or something like the Project Eden...where you get flooded by Junk...
Oh wow mate! I didn't mean to infer that you did tell anyone how to play the game. Nor did I even take it that way. Sorry
@RazzleWin I probably can be considered a nerd, so some ways to say things I might intrepid a different way that intended, where my feedback can be like that too. Sometimes I say things just in case and with no personal feelings. Live long and prosper.
Each POI belongs to a group of POIs and multiple of the same POI can spawn when set to spawn in several from the group.
